Job summary

Carlyle Group in New York is seeking a Product Manager to lead technology initiatives for the Client Solutions Group Technology, focusing on Salesforce as the institutional sales and CRM platform.

You will bridge business stakeholders and engineering to implement, launch, and mature CRM capabilities, driving adoption, data quality, and measurable business impact.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Information Systems, CS, Business, or related field.
  • 5–7 years in product management or business analysis, preferably within Private Equity, Financial Services, or Technology.
  • Hands-on CRM ownership or implementation experience, with Salesforce strongly preferred, including configuration, release management, and reporting.
  • Experience leading or playing a central role in a CRM or enterprise platform implementation, including data validation, user training, and rollout.
  • Experience working with data analytics and business intelligence tools to generate insights, define KPIs, and support data driven decision making.
  • Experience managing vendor platforms or SaaS implementations, and directing business analyst, quality assurance, or partner resources.
  • Strong understanding of data management, governance, and integration frameworks.
  • Experience working in Agile delivery environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development, deployment, and enhancement of Salesforce-based solutions for fundraising and sales teams.
  • Own day-to-day product management of Salesforce for the institutional sales user base through implementation, launch, and steady state operation.
  • Define and manage the product roadmap, backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization, aligned to fundraising and digitization objectives.
  • Partner with engineering, implementation partners, and vendors to configure, test, and deploy new capabilities.
  • Establish documentation, release, and enablement standards, and direct business analyst, QA, and partner resources for scalable delivery.
  • Drive adoption across senior sales users and measure outcomes.
  • Define KPIs, monitor platform usage and performance, and recommend improvements to data quality and productivity.
  • Identify opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into fundraising and sales workflows.

This role will serve as the Product Manager for Salesforce, Carlyle’s institutional sales and client relationship management platform, and will play a central role in the Firm’s implementation of Salesforce and the broader modernization of the fundraising technology stack.The Product Manager will bridge business stakeholders and technology teams to design, implement, and evolve a scalable CRM platform that gives fundraising and sales teams a single, trusted view of investors and prospects, strengthens pipeline visibility and data quality, and drives commercial and operational efficiency.The ideal candidate will combine hands-on CRM product experience, outstanding relationship building and communication skills, and structured execution to deliver measurable business impact through implementation, launch, adoption, and ongoing product maturity.**In-Office Requirements:** 4 days per week in-office**Primary Responsibilities**Platform Strategy and Business Alignment* Fundraising Platform Strategy: Partner with institutional sales, client coverage, product specialist, marketing, fund formation, and compliance teams to define and evolve the Salesforce roadmap across fundraising, coverage, and reporting use cases.* Sales Process Enablement: Translate complex fundraising and coverage processes, including prospect targeting, pipeline management, capital commitments, and account coverage models, into streamlined, technology enabled workflows within Salesforce.* Investor Data and Reporting: Own the investor and prospect data model, support the implementation of reusable data structures aligned with firm data governance standards, and ensure pipeline reporting and dashboards give leadership a trusted, near real time view of fundraising activity.* Systems Integration: Collaborate with internal technology teams to ensure seamless integration between Salesforce and adjacent platforms, including investor onboarding, fund accounting, marketing automation, document management, and downstream reporting systems.Product Ownership* Lead the development, deployment, and enhancement of technology solutions tailored to fundraising and sales business needs, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.* Own day to day product management of Salesforce for the institutional sales user base through implementation, launch, and steady state operation.* Lead the remaining phases of the Salesforce implementation, including requirements definition, data validation, testing, user training, and rollout.* Define and manage the product roadmap, backlog, user stories, acceptance criteria, and prioritization, aligned to the Firm’s fundraising and digitization objectives.* Partner with engineering, implementation partners, and vendors to configure, test, and deploy new capabilities.* Establish documentation, release, and enablement standards, and direct business analyst, quality assurance, and partner resources so that delivery scales beyond any single individual.Adoption, Innovation, and Scalability* Drive adoption across a senior, commercially focused sales user base, treating adoption as a product outcome rather than a training exercise.* Improve the quality and completeness of investor, prospect, and pipeline data, and define the controls that keep it durable over time.* Support scalable configurations and processes that can be reused across new funds, strategies, and investment segments.* Define KPIs, monitor platform usage and performance, and recommend improvements that increase adoption, data quality, and commercial productivity.* Identify and evaluate opportunities to incorporate AI and automation into fundraising and sales workflows, including data capture, activity logging, pipeline hygiene, and reporting, to enhance efficiency, insight, and the investor experience.Stakeholder Management* Act as a trusted advisor to senior sales and fundraising stakeholders, ensuring transparency and alignment between technical capabilities and commercial objectives.* Mitigate risks by addressing potential delays and misalignments, ensuring projects remain on schedule and deliver high-impact outcomes.* Provide structured updates to senior leadership on roadmap progress, implementation milestones, adoption metrics, risks, and key decisions.**Key Deliverables*** Successful implementation of Salesforce as the Firm’s institutional sales platform.* A trusted investor and prospect data set, with measurable gains in data quality and pipeline reporting accuracy.* Streamlined workflows and seamless integration with adjacent systems, including investor onboarding, fund accounting, and marketing platforms.* AI capabilities embedded in the fundraising platform that reimagine how the sales teams work, surfacing insight, removing manual effort, and helping coverage teams sell more effectively.* Sustained adoption across the sales user base, measured by usage and data quality rather than rollout completion.* A well documented platform with a support model that is not dependent on any single individual.**Requirements****Education & Certificates*** Bachelor’s Degree, required.* Concentration in Information Systems, Computer Science, Business, or a related field preferred.* Graduate-level degree preferred.**Professional Experience*** Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in product management or business analyst roles, preferably within Private Equity, Financial Services, or Technology.* Hands-on experience owning or implementing a CRM platform, with Salesforce strongly preferred, including configuration, release management, and reporting.* Experience leading or playing a central role in a CRM or enterprise platform implementation, including data validation, user training, and rollout.* Familiarity with institutional fundraising, client coverage, or sales processes preferred; experience supporting a commercial or front office user base is a strong plus.* Experience working with data analytics and business intelligence tools to generate insights, define KPIs, and support data driven decision making.* Experience managing vendor platforms or SaaS implementations, and directing accordingly.* Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including data analysis and pivot tables.**Benefits/Compensation** The compensation range for this role is specific to New York City and takes into account a wide range of factors including but not limited to the skill sets required/preferred; prior experience and training; licenses and/or certifications. The anticipated base salary range for this role is $160,000 to $180,000. In addition to the base salary, the hired professional will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package spanning retirement benefits, health insurance, life insurance and disability, paid time off, paid holidays, family planning benefits and various wellness programs.
