Bloomberg L.P. is seeking a Product Manager for Alternative Data focused on dataset evaluation and onboarding.

You will own the end-to-end process from evaluating contracted datasets to production-ready onboarding, collaborating across data science, engineering, and vendor teams. This role demands strong program management, hands-on data knowledge, and the ability to translate business requirements into precise technical specs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of product experience with alternative data.
• Strong understanding of alternative data and how investors use it.
• Experience building/managing data evaluation, quality, or onboarding processes.
• Hands-on data experience, including QA and data delivery at scale.
• Ability to translate requirements into detailed specs.
• Experience with data engineers, data scientists, and cross-functional stakeholders.
• Experience with external data vendors or provider relationships.
• Strong written and verbal communication for leadership/external partners.
• Excellent organizational skills to manage concurrent pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Own the dataset evaluation pipeline end-to-end: prioritization, timelines, throughput.
• Translate strategy into structured evaluation frameworks and outputs.
• Collaborate with engineering evaluations team to define requirements and ensure results are decision-ready.
• Engage directly with data providers to gather information.
• Improve evaluation processes to increase speed, rigor, and scalability.
• Own end-to-end onboarding plan for contracted datasets, including delivery requirements and timelines.
• Define and monitor data quality for onboarded datasets post-launch.
• Drive cross-functional execution with data scientists, engineers, and vendors.
• Define and track metrics for evaluation throughput and onboarding speed.
