Job summary

Lam Research in Seattle seeks a Senior Product Manager to lead a cross‑functional team across engineering, manufacturing and marketing, guiding product vision, roadmaps and release plans.

You will translate customer needs into strategic plans, define the program Vision, manage objectives, and ensure on‑time delivery of a Whole Product with predictable lead times and costs.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.

Essential Functions and Duties
  • The Product Manager represents the Product across all organizational boundaries, acting as a conductor leading a dynamic cross‑functional team to align objectives and vision success criteria, prioritize activities and allocate resources, and support total product lifecycle activities.
  • Lead highly technical individuals across multiple organizations and management levels, demonstrating leadership capability, conviction to drive aligned PORs to completion, and courage to make decisions.
  • Bring clarity and guidance during uncertainty.
Product Roadmap / Strategy / Vision
  • Collect and understand customer needs and Lam business objectives to align product development strategy and program roadmap.
  • Facilitate round‑table reviews of market roadmap and technology development resulting in revisions of product strategy, program roadmap, and organizational priorities.
  • Align and author the program Vision, setting cost objectives and program deliverables aligned with marketing requirements and product strategy. Hold team members accountable to the aligned vision deliverables throughout the Product Development & Release process.
  • Define and manage implementation strategy for product enhancements, new options, and fixes.
  • Communicate via Plan of Record (POR) to the development team, operations, and customer accounts to align implementation of product changes.
  • Accountable for release of a Whole Product that meets performance targets, is available in manufacturing with predictable lead time and cost, is supportable in the field with proper documentation and training, with an aligned roadmap.
Product Lifecycle Management
  • Prioritize programs to allocate resources aligned with overall organizational objectives.
  • Define and communicate the product offered for sale through the Product Option Architecture (POA) system and approve product changes.
  • Manage unreleased product proliferation: capture and communicate early forecasts and shipment plans in the Unreleased Build Plan Process (URBP); submit DMRFs to drive unreleased material; and approve Critical Design Reviews; align and approve new part spares inventory.
  • Define and manage ECOGS to support implementation of issue resolution in the field. Coordinate and monitor CSBG execution of mandatory retrofit and supplier quality excursion recovery programs.
  • Review and disposition PRs in iPLM, BOM change orders, and NSRs; provide supporting rationale and alternatives to justify decisions and determine pricing.
  • Communicate across Lam and with customer known product issues, the impact to ongoing operations/production and POR.
  • Lead CFTs as necessary, coordinating operations and development groups, to mitigate the customer production impacts when scarce resources are available.
  • Lead Safety issue CFTs to drive Safety Alert and implementation plans.
  • Analyze and make recommendation of financial reserves and disposition of unreleased material inventory in engineering, operations and spares locations.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Minimum of 12 years of related experience with a Bachelor’s degree; or 8 years and a Master’s degree; or a PhD with 5 years experience; or equivalent experience.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous experience in semiconductor capital equipment industry preferred.
  • Supervisory or management experience preferred.
