Job summary

Uber is seeking a Product Manager II to turn complexity into clarity, own outcomes, and lead through influence in a fast-paced environment.

You will design, develop, and test software applications, apply technical knowledge to data, and build components for a fully functional system. This role may telecommute; in-office presence is emphasized for collaboration and culture.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering/IT or related field plus 5 years of post-baccalaureate experience.
• Experience designing large-scale, fault-tolerant distributed systems using microservices architecture.
• Full SDLC experience including requirements analysis, design, coding in Java or Python, and unit testing.
• Experience deploying applications on AWS and GCP.
• Real-time stream data processing and building robust data pipelines.
• Experience with message queuing and event streaming platforms such as Apache Kafka.

Rate of Pay: $226,138 to $271,366 per year

What you’ll do

• Design, develop, and test software applications.

• Apply technical knowledge to evaluate complex data, developments, and projects in order to provide recommendations to resolve technical issues.


• Support the company's business operations and improve engineering productivity.


• Build software components that can be integrated into a fully functional software system.


• Solve production issues in product and system reliability.

Basic Qualifications

• Employer will accept a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering (Any), Information Technology, Mathematics, Physics, or related field, followed by 5 years of progressive, post-baccalaureate experience in the job offered or related occupation.

  • Full software development lifecycle experience, including requirements analysis, design, coding in Java or Python, and unit testing;
  
  
  • Developing and deploying applications on public cloud platforms, including Amazon Web Services (AWS) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP);
  
  
  • Real-time stream data processing and building robust data pipelines;
  
  
  • Message queuing and event streaming platforms, including Apache Kafka;
  
  
  • Application containerization and cluster orchestration using technologies including Docker;
  
  
  • Utilizing version control systems, including Git, for source code management in a collaborative team environment.
