Job summary

Pulsejobs in Wisconsin seeks an experienced Product Manager to lead new product and packaging initiatives, coordinating with marketing, sales and operations from concept through launch.

Qualifications

  • Develop sales collateral with Marketing and Sales teams.
  • Manage collateral for new products and updates; monitor inventory and EOQ.
  • Attend divisional meetings and regional trade shows; support promotional materials.
  • Oversee product life cycle and promotional campaigns with cross-functional partners.

RESPONSIBILITIES AND JOB ACTIVITIES:
New Product and Packaging Development:

1. Drive product execution process for all confirmed new product initiatives from approval to launch. Work with key functional areas as necessary to complete the following; confirmation of package sizes, establishment of product codes and part numbers, release, and distribution of product ECO's, and updates of price lists and packaging development.

2. Work with registrations to ensure package labeling meets requirements.

3. Drive the development and execution of packaging.

4. Proactively work with purchasing to help ensure efficient, responsible, cost-effective packaging development and transition plans for both existing and new products.

Sales Collateral Development:

1. Work with the Marketing team and the Sales team to develop collateral materials, as necessary. This includes working with graphic artists, sales managers, and outside customers to ensure successful completion.

2. Manage all collateral development for new product introductions as well as updates and enhancements to existing collateral materials, including coordination and distribution of price list updates.

3. Monitor inventory levels and (in concert with purchasing or Dunlop) determine economic order quantities of new materials, as necessary.

4. Field Travel – Less than 10%:

5. Attend all divisional sales meetings.

6. Attend regional trade shows and training events, as deemed necessary. Gather intelligence necessary for effective product and sales support.

Promotional Planning and Support:

1. In concert with the Vice President of Marketing and Sales team, develop and implement promotional marketing programs that support sales objectives.

2. Coordinate and vet advertising campaigns that support new product introductions, product initiatives, and other objectives.

3. Work with the Vice President of Marketing and Sales managers to develop and execute promotional materials for customer‑specific initiatives.

4. Assist in the creation and development of trade show promotional materials and displays, and related materials.

Product Stewardship:

1. Actively work with materials management and accounting to identify products that no longer meet our required performance criteria.

2. Evaluate product performance and manage product life cycle to drive continued sales growth through merchandising, promotional, or packaging solutions.

Website and Digital Content:

1. Work with the entire Marketing team to manage Sensing websites and execute digital communications (e.g. – e‑blasts, online promotional content).

Trademark Compliance:

1. Work with SVP and Vice President of Marketing to support and manage all divisional trademarks.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS
EDUCATION

Bachelor's degree in marketing or business administration; MBA a plus

EXPERIENCE

Minimum 5-7 years of related experience as an associate product manager, ideally in a CPG and/or manufacturing environment.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES

Requires strong verbal and written communication skills as well as superior spreadsheet and database management capabilities. Must be comfortable with and have experience interacting with cross-functional areas/teams. Must be able to assess divergent categories of information and formulate actionable plans. Adaptability is a must. Must also be adept at MS Word and PowerPoint.
