POSITION: Product Manager
REPORTS TO: Senior Vice President, Learning

ACHE is a hybrid work environment, requiring 2 days per week in our Chicago office and as such, only Chicago area based candidates will be considered.

Purpose

The purpose of this role is to serve ACHE members, customers, and colleagues by ensuring that ACHE's learning, credentialing, and leadership development offerings are positioned in the market with clarity, relevance, and differentiation.

Summary

The Product Manager is responsible for translating ACHE's priority learning and credentialing products targeting healthcare leaders into clearly defined market positions that drive growth, engagement, and organizational impact. Operating at the intersection of product strategy, market intelligence, customer insight, and portfolio management, this role serves as the steward of the strategic brief—the foundational document that guides positioning, messaging, marketing execution, and product evolution. This role will collaborate with all stakeholder groups including content development across all of the Learn portfolio supporting leaders, marketing, sales, and program delivery.

Job Functions
  1. Product Strategy and Positioning 40% of Time
    1. Own and maintain the strategic brief for assigned products and portfolio segments.
    2. Define and continuously refine product positioning, target audiences, value propositions, and differentiation strategies.
    3. Map products into ACHE's leadership pathways framework.
    4. Partner with content development teams and senior leadership to shape future program direction.
    5. Develop recommendations for product refresh, enhancement, expansion, or retirement.
  2. Market Intelligence and Customer Insight 30% of Time
    1. Conduct ongoing competitive analysis and monitor market developments.
    2. Maintain customer insight through research, advisory groups, pilot feedback, and interviews.
    3. Develop audience definitions, buyer personas, and job-to-be-done frameworks.
    4. Analyze qualitative and quantitative data to identify opportunities and risks.
    5. Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of marketing objectives.
  3. Cross Functional Execution and Performance Optimization 30% of Time
    1. Partner with Marketing on campaigns, web pages, and go-to-market activities.
    2. Partner with Content Development on program direction and market alignment.
    3. Review registrations, revenue, engagement, NPS, and related performance metrics.
    4. Support new-product development and launch planning.
    5. Assist in building scalable product management practices.
    6. Maintain effective internal communications to ensure that all relevant company functions are kept informed of product objectives.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in Product Management / Marketing or a related field. Master's degree preferred.
    Five to ten years of relevant experience in product management, product marketing, portfolio strategy, or market research.
    Experience in education, credentialing, healthcare, professional services, or membership organizations preferred.
    Ability to analyze product portfolio, positioning and marketing models, report on performance, and make recommendations for improvements.
    Strong analytical, writing, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
    Strong experience managing timelines.
    Ability to influence without direct authority and manage competing priorities.
    Demonstrated competence in project management.
    Broad scope of knowledge of issues facing healthcare executives, including leadership development and knowledge of current and future trends within the national healthcare industry is most desirable.
    Ability to work in fast-paced, high volume work environment.
    Team player, self-motivated and able to juggle multiple priorities.
    Excellent integration skills, able to envision steps in a team process and flawlessly execute in coordination with others.

Other Requirements

Compensation

This is an exempt/salaried role, paid on a bi-weekly basis. We anticipate filling this position in a salary range of $85,000 - $110,000 annually.

This salary range represents ACHE's good faith estimate of the possible compensation offer for this role at the time of posting. The compensation offered will take the following into consideration: education, relevant experience, certifications, organizational budget, and market estimates for the role.
