Job summary

Temposonics, LLC is seeking a Product Manager to identify market and customer needs for assigned products, with the objective of maximizing sales revenue and profit margins. This role manages the product lifecycle from introduction to end of life and works with Sales to maintain key account relationships for effective product line management.

The position requires developing product plans, forecasting for production, and identifying enhancements based on market demand.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent.
  • 5+ years of product marketing or sales experience.
  • 5-10 years of engineering experience.
  • Marketing experience on product positioning and market mix management.
  • Knowledge of industrial measurement, sensor technology, automation, and control engineering.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain product plans and lifecycle strategies with Global Market Segment Manager.
  • Provide forecasts to Operations to support production planning and inventory management.
  • Identify and define product enhancements based on market needs.
  • Recommend pricing and gross margin strategies to maximize profitability.
  • Monitor market position and competitiveness of assigned products.
  • Support sales channels with training materials and technical information.

Temposonics is growing and in search of our next Product Manager to identify market and customer needs for assigned products, with the objective of maximizing sales revenue and profit margins. This position is responsible for managing the product lifecycle, from introduction to end of life. Working with Sales, the role maintains key account relationships as needed to effectively manage the product line.

Major Areas of Accountability

1. Develops and maintains product plans and product family strategies in conjunction with the Global Market Segment Manager. Manages product life cycle plans, recommends product replacement and obsolescence. Provides direction to engineering and manufacturing for the maintenance and upgrade of the product line.

2. Provides information to Operations in the form of forecasts to support production planning and inventory management, with support from Global Business Intelligence.

3. Identifies, investigates and determines product enhancement and development requirements based on key market needs and profitable sales growth.

4. Recommends pricing and gross margin strategies, consistent with global strategy, to maximize profitability for assigned products and meet divisional goals. Maintains price list for assigned products based on divisional guidelines and goals.

5. Monitors and analyzes the market position of assigned products and their competitors to better determine and promote product and price competitiveness, product acceptance, growth of market share, cost efficiency, profitability and a competitive advantage. Monitors the development of market users and industry trends.

6. Evaluates business feasibility and profitability for special (non-standard) products within the global structure. Also assesses business feasibility for custom products as assigned. Provides pricing on non-standard and custom products based on established profitability goals in conjunction with Finance.

7. Supports sales channels as necessary, to include sales calls to key customers, product training materials (for sales and distributors) and technical support. Must be a key source of technical product information and provide advanced knowledge of product applications and technology.

8. Supports other departments to include activities such as participation in trade shows, customer visits, or resolving customer problems to ensure that customer expectations are met.

9. Develops appropriate sales and technical literature with Marketing Communications as well as other marketing communication programs for assigned markets to ensure successful market awareness and lead generation.

10. Knows and applies the division’s quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and notifies appropriate personnel of any non-conformance.

Minimum Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or equivalent

Experience :

  • Minimum 5-year of product marketing or sales experience and 5-10 years of engineering experience.
  • Marketing experience on product positioning and market mix management required.
  • Market and product knowledge related to industrial measurement, sensor technology, industrial automation, and control engineering.
Soft Skills Required
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to put Excellent written together and present presentations to internal and external customers.
  • Ability to make decisions that balance the customer demands with the Sensors’ capabilities and strategic focus.
  • Strong customer orientation with demonstrated ability to interface and work directly with customers
  • Poised, professional ability to interact with all areas of the organization
  • Ability to grasp new concepts quickly, solve problems, take initiative and demonstrate analytical business skills

Travel Requirement: Occasional travel 5-10%
