Electro‑Mechanical Engineering Manager,

you will Direct and lead the Mechanical Engineering team within the R&D department to design, develop, and continuously improve Temposonics’ high‑precision magnetostrictive linear position sensors and level transmitters. Establish and execute technical strategy, engineering processes, and resource allocation to deliver high‑quality, high‑performance sensing solutions aligned with commercial, quality, cost, and time‑to‑market targets.

Design Oversight & Engineering Excellence
  • Oversee and guide electro‑mechanical system architecture, component design, electronic packaging in sensor systems, and hardware integration.
  • Ensure rigorous analysis, simulation, prototyping, and debugging of designs to meet high‑reliability performance in demanding industrial, mobile hydraulic, and process environments.
  • Drive technical feasibility assessments for new technologies and product concepts.
  • Create, control, and execute project timelines, resource plans, and cost targets for standard sensor series, custom modifications, and rapid prototyping.
  • Ensure cross‑functional coordination to deliver projects on time, within scope, and on budget.
  • Ensure full compliance with internal R&D design processes, NPI phase‑gate requirements, and quality standards.
  • Facilitate robust peer reviews, design reviews, and risk assessments (e.g., FMEAs).
  • Oversee document control, including engineering change orders (ECOs), bills of materials (BOMs), drawings, and ERP system updates.
Cross‑Functional & Production Support
  • Coordinate closely with Manufacturing, Quality, and Supply Chain to ensure seamless transfer of designs to production (DFM/DFT), tool design, and testing solutions.
  • Support Sustaining Engineering activities to resolve production, quality, or component obsolescence issues.
  • Provide high‑level technical expertise and support to Technical Marketing, Sales, and customers, including technical presentations and custom application reviews.
  • Assist in resolving complex customer field issues and service/repair investigations.
Technology & Competitor Intelligence
  • Stay current with state‑of‑the‑art technologies, development tools, materials, and emerging industry standards (e.g., magnetostriction, linear position sensing, hazardous area approvals).
  • Perform competitive analysis and technical evaluations of competitor offerings.
Manufacturing Transfer, Supply Chain, and Sustaining
  • Manage contract manufacturer interactions and support contract manufacturer test during system builds, including tester deployment, correlation, and support.
  • Work with cross‑functional teams to implement electro mechanical engineering strategies and best practices in manufacturing operations, and apply design for manufacturability and design for test principles from the start of a design rather than after release.
  • Support component selection, qualification, second‑sourcing, obsolescence management, and cost‑reduction initiatives, and evaluate alternates in coordination with supply chain and quality.
  • Ensure that technical documentation is accurate and updated for assigned projects, including schematics, bills of material, test specifications, and change documentation released under the ECO process.
