Job summary

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength in the Chicago area offers the Product Management Intern role as part of the 2027 internship program. You will work with product, design, and engineering teams to translate requirements into features, participate in Agile ceremonies, and help drive product initiatives across software, hardware, and connected fitness technologies.

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate high-level business and customer requirements into detailed product features and user stories.
• Support the collection, analysis, and synthesis of market research, competitive intelligence, and customer feedback to inform product strategy and roadmap decisions.
• Participate in Agile development ceremonies, including daily stand-ups, sprint planning sessions, retrospectives, and backlog refinement meetings.
• Help facilitate the successful delivery of key console software enhancements and product initiatives.
• Work closely with Console Hardware, Biomechanics, Cardio, and Engineering teams to support cross-functional alignment across product roadmaps.
• Assist in defining product requirements, documenting priorities, and tracking project progress.
• Contribute to a high-impact, business-critical project that supports product innovation and customer value.
• Perform day-to-day responsibilities within the Product Management organization while gaining exposure to the full product development lifecycle.
• Analyze product, customer, and market data to identify trends and opportunities for continuous improvement.
• Collaborate with fellow interns on a 12-week cross-functional case study project, culminating in a final presentation to senior leaders, stakeholders, and managers.
• Attend team meetings and cross-functional reviews to gain exposure to broader business operations and product strategy discussions.

About the Role The Life Fitness / Hammer Strength Internship Program 2027 is designed to provide meaningful, hands-on experience that supports both professional development and business impact. Successful interns will work on challenging projects aligned with their academic background, receive ongoing mentorship from experienced professionals, and gain exposure to product development processes across software, hardware, and connected fitness technologies. Throughout the internship, you will help drive initiatives that support product innovation, customer experience, and business growth.

As our Product Management Intern, you will:

• Collaborate with product, design, and engineering teams to translate high-level business and customer requirements into detailed product features and user stories.

What Life Fitness / Hammer Strength is looking for in our Product Management Intern:

• Must be local to the Chicagoland area and available to participate in the hybrid internship program.
• Currently enrolled in a full-time bachelor's degree program with an expected graduation date in 2028 or 2029.
• Pursuing a degree in Business, Product Management, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Engineering, Marketing, or a related field.
• Strong academic standing preferred, with a minimum cumulative GPA of 3.2.
• Demonstrated initiative, positive attitude, and eagerness to learn.
• Excellent organizational and project management skills.
• Strong analytical, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and thrive in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
• Interest in software products, technology, connected fitness, user experience, or product strategy.

Benefits and Compensation

At Life Fitness / Hammer Strength, we believe in taking care of our team with a comprehensive total rewards package that includes competitive pay and a range of valuable benefits.

The base wage range for this position, intended for U.S. applicants, is $19.00 - $23.00 per hour and includes eligibility for overtime. The actual base pay will vary based on applicant's education, experience, skills, and abilities. The range reflected is based on a primary work location of Rosemont, IL and the actual salary may vary for applicants in a different geographic location.

Life Fitness / Hammer Strength provides a valuable and enriching experience for interns. Depending on the length and timing of their internship, interns may qualify for paid holidays during their assignment. They are also eligible for paid sick leave as outlined by state and local laws. Eligibility for all benefits is determined by the applicable plan documents and company policies.
