With the rollout of 5G and the evolution of future wireless networks, the demand for innovative solutions to enhance RF system coverage and capacity continues to accelerate. RFS Technologies is seeking an experienced Product Line Manager to join our team and lead the growth of our expanding RF cable portfolio. The position is Hybrid – approximately 50% on-site at our Meriden, CT facility, and travel up to 30% is expected.
This role will focus on overseeing our Radiating Cable product line—an essential solution for wireless communication in confined environments such as tunnels, mines, and transit systems. The Product Line Manager (PLM) will be responsible for the full product lifecycle, from strategic planning to hands-on execution. This includes close collaboration with engineering, sales, marketing, operations, and customers to drive product success and market adoption.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Planning: Define and execute the product roadmap based on market trends, customer insights, and company objectives. Collaborate with leadership to align product strategy with business growth and profitability goals. Conduct market research to identify emerging trends and competitive positioning. Maintain a deep understanding of the RF Cable industry and related technologies.
- Product Development and Management: Act as primary liaison between customers, internal sales team, and engineering. Oversee and execute the design, development, and launch of new RF cable products. Ensure products meet technical, performance, and margin requirements. Manage existing product lines, driving enhancements and lifecycle optimization. Oversee product rationalization and end-of-life strategies. Gather customer feedback to inform product improvements and future developments.
- Performance Metrics: Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for product success, including revenue growth, profitability, market share, and customer satisfaction.
Skills, Knowledge, and Abilities
- Experience in industries like rail transit, mining, defense, or in-building wireless systems.
- Familiarity with standards and regulatory requirements (e.g., NFPA, IEEE, IEC, EN).
- Proficiency with product lifecycle tools (e.g., PLM software).
- Strong knowledge of radiating cable technology, RF propagation, and wireless system deployment in confined spaces.
- Proven experience in managing technical products from concept to commercialization.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and presentation abilities.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
Education
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Telecommunications, or related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5–7 years of proven experience in product management or engineering, preferably in RF cable systems, antennas, or wireless infrastructure.
