Job summary

Moog Military Aircraft Group in Buffalo, NY seeks a Product Line Lead to manage a team of procurement professionals and coordinate with operations to ensure compliant PO placement and supplier management for a specified value stream. You will drive process improvements with cross-functional teams and maintain strong supplier relationships.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline, 5+ years in supply chain/manufacturing/engineering, and 2+ years of leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a business or technical discipline (e.g., Supply Chain, Business, Engineering).
• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in Supply Chain, Manufacturing, or Engineering.
• At least 2 years of leadership or influence in cross-functional Supply Chain environments.
• Experience with US Government contractual and regulatory requirements (FAR/DFAR, REACH, EAR, ITAR) for PO Placement, Contracting, and Proposal support.
• Deep knowledge of MBS modules and transactions (planning, PO placement, maintenance, inventory).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; experience with continuous improvement tools (5Y, A3, 8D).
• Formal Six Sigma/Lean training desirable but not required.
• Excellent communication at all levels; travel up to 10%.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of Supply Specialists and Sr. Supply Specialists.
• Serve as primary focal point and first escalation between Supply Chain Procurement and Operations for procurement activities in the value stream(s).
• Oversee PO placement and ensure timely delivery; resolve issues or delays with appropriate actions.
• Update part-specific procurement strategies and DDMPR parameters to align with business needs.
• Plan capacity and manage workload to support value streams.
• Lead cross-functional teams for process improvements across supply chain functions.
• Ensure PO placement compliance with regulations such as FAR/DFAR/USG.

In this role, your primary responsibility will be leading a team of procurement professionals. This includes ensuring compliant purchase order placement and supplier management for a specific value stream(s). This includes providing guidance, support, and mentorship to your team members in the form of setting expectations, providing feedback, and fostering professional growth.Acting as the primary focal point and first level of escalation between Supply Chain Procurement and Operations Teams for all procurement activities within a specific value stream(s). This involves coordinating and facilitating communication between internal customers and suppliers.Overseeing the placement of purchase orders and ensuring timely delivery. In case of any issues or delays, you will be responsible for implementing appropriate actions to resolve them. Key process indicators may include aging buy signals, expedites or delays in orders, non-conformances, and past due incoming orders, etc.Updating part-specific procurement strategies and/or DDMRP parameters as well as reviewing and updating procurement strategies for specific parts or products. This may involve adjusting buffer types, minimum order quantity, safety stock, and other parameters to align with the business needs.Capacity planning and managing workload across the Supply Specialists/Sr. Supply Specialists to ensure the optimal level of support for the value stream(s).Attending and actively participating in daily/weekly accountability/tiered meetings to effectively communicate updates to the value stream(s) and ensure alignment of priorities.Leading cross-functional teams for process improvement: You will take the lead in forming and guiding cross-functional teams to identify and implement process improvements across different supply chain functions.
