The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Siemens Teamcenter Functional Consultant to support a large-scale Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) transformation.

This is a functional consulting role, not a Teamcenter production-support or software development position.

You will work closely with engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, quality, procurement, and technology teams to understand how products are designed, changed, released, manufactured, sourced, and managed—and translate those business processes into effective Teamcenter solutions.

The ideal candidate has extensive Siemens Teamcenter and PLM experience and has taken ownership of functional workstreams during Teamcenter implementations, transformations, upgrades, or enterprise rollouts.

Candidates should have deep expertise in at least one major Teamcenter functional area, along with working knowledge across several others.

Key Areas of Expertise
We are particularly interested in experience with:
  • Item, Product Structure & BOM Management
  • EBOM / MBOM
  • Configuration & Release Management
  • Product & Material Compliance
  • Classification & Product Data Governance
  • Document & Workflow Management
  • Teamcenter Active Workspace
  • Teamcenter-to-ERP integration
What You'll Do
  • Meet with engineering and business teams to understand current PLM processes and identify areas for improvement.
  • Lead requirements-gathering sessions, discovery meetings, and functional workshops.
  • Translate business needs into practical Teamcenter functional designs and processes.
  • Design future-state PLM workflows, governance, and operating processes.
  • Perform fit-gap analysis and recommend solutions using standard Teamcenter functionality when possible.
  • Create functional specifications, process flows, use cases, configuration requirements, and acceptance criteria.
  • Work closely with Teamcenter architects, developers, integration teams, testers, and business stakeholders.
  • Support functional configuration, testing, UAT, deployment, training, user adoption, and post-launch stabilization.
  • Help improve how product information moves between engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, suppliers, and other downstream teams.
Depending on Your Area of Expertise, You May Also:
BOM & Product Structure
  • Design and improve item, part, document, and product-structure processes.
  • Support EBOM, MBOM, configurable products, variants, revisions, and effectivity.
  • Establish governance for parts, assemblies, specifications, and related product information.
  • Improve BOM authoring, reconciliation, release, and revision processes.
  • Support integration between Teamcenter and ERP platforms such as SAP.
  • Design and improve ECR, ECO, ECN, deviation, and release processes.
  • Define Teamcenter workflows, approvals, routing, notifications, and governance.
  • Support change-impact analysis across BOMs, documents, manufacturing processes, suppliers, and quality records.
  • Improve revision, maturity, release-status, baseline, and configuration processes.
  • Improve how suppliers and external partners participate in product development.
  • Support supplier onboarding, technical-document exchange, part submissions, specifications, and approvals.
  • Define appropriate security, access, and data-sharing processes.
  • Work with engineering, procurement, sourcing, and supply-chain teams.
Product & Material Compliance
  • Support product, material, supplier, and regulatory compliance processes.
  • Work with requirements such as RoHS, REACH, Conflict Minerals, and other environmental or material regulations.
  • Improve the management of material declarations, supplier compliance information, approvals, reporting, and audit records.
What We're Looking For
  • Extensive professional experience in Product Lifecycle Management (PLM), ideally within engineering or manufacturing environments.
  • Significant hands‑on Siemens Teamcenter functional experience.
  • Experience delivering Teamcenter implementations, transformations, upgrades, migrations, or enterprise rollouts.
  • Strong experience with Teamcenter Active Workspace.
  • Experience leading requirements gathering, discovery sessions, and functional workshops.
  • Ability to translate business requirements into Teamcenter processes and functional solution designs.
  • Strong understanding of product‑development processes across engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain.
  • Experience across the PLM implementation lifecycle, including requirements, fit-gap analysis, solution design, configuration, testing/UAT, deployment, and adoption.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both business and technical teams.

A bachelor's degree in Engineering, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is preferred. Equivalent professional experience may also be considered.

Teamcenter Experience We're Interested In

Experience across several of the following is highly valuable:

  • Teamcenter Active Workspace
  • Product Structure / Structure Management
  • BOM Management
  • EBOM / MBOM
  • Configuration Management
  • Workflow Management
  • Classification
  • Document Management
  • Release Management
  • Product / Material Compliance
  • Item & Product Data Management
  • Variant & Configuration Management
  • Teamcenter-to-ERP integration
What Will Make You Stand Out

You may be especially well suited for this opportunity if you have:

  • Led a Teamcenter functional workstream rather than only participated as a project team member.
  • Designed PLM processes for large or global engineering organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of EBOM/MBOM relationships and downstream product-data processes.
  • Experience integrating Teamcenter with SAP or another ERP system.
  • Experience designing engineering-change processes across BOMs, manufacturing, suppliers, quality, and compliance.
  • Experience establishing PLM governance, data standards, classification, configuration, or release strategies.
  • Worked with large or highly configurable product structures.
  • Experience supporting global Teamcenter implementations across multiple business units, plants, or engineering organizations.

Experience within aerospace, automotive, industrial manufacturing, electronics, semiconductor, telecommunications equipment, medical devices, or other complex engineering environments is also valuable.

Who Will Succeed in This Role?

We're looking for more than someone who has simply used Teamcenter.

The ideal consultant understands how products move through their entire lifecycle—from engineering and product structure through change management, release, manufacturing, suppliers, and compliance—and knows how Siemens Teamcenter can be configured to support and improve those processes.

You should be comfortable discussing business processes with engineering and operations leaders and then working directly with Teamcenter architects and technical teams to turn those requirements into a practical solution.
