Job description

About Rivet

Rivet is an American company building integrated task systems — fusing hardened hardware with software, sensors, AI, and networking — for industrial workforces and defense personnel. We create capabilities that multiply the effectiveness of every individual and withstand the world’s toughest environments.

We serve the people who build, operate, maintain, and defend our way of life. From technicians and engineers to first responders and service members, they embody the hard work, ingenuity, and meritocratic values that drive Western prosperity. Yet too often they are forced to rely on outdated tools that fail under modern pressures. Rivet exists to reset that priority.

At Rivet, you’ll join a mission-driven team that fuses disciplines to deliver decisive outcomes where they matter most. Whether shaping our technology, strengthening our partnerships, or building our culture, every role here contributes to equipping the front lines with the modern systems they deserve.

Work Authorization Requirement: Due to the nature of our business and compliance with federal regulations, all candidates must be a "U.S. Person". Upon hire, you will be required to provide documentation verifying your status as a U.S. Citizen, a lawful permanent resident, or a protected individual under 8 U.S.C. 1324b(a)(3).
Summary

We're seeking a detail-driven Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) Analyst to own the product data and change-control backbone behind Rivet's hardware programs.

You’ll work across electrical, mechanical, optical, firmware, manufacturing, and quality teams to keep item data, BOMs, and engineering changes accurate and moving through the system without bottlenecks. You’ll own the full product data lifecycle—from item and BOM structure through engineering change requests/orders, revision control, and release to manufacturing—so every team is building from the same accurate configuration.

The ideal candidate is meticulous, systems-minded, and energized by bringing order and traceability to fast-moving hardware development.

Responsibilities
  • Own and maintain Bills of Materials across all hardware programs.
  • Manage the engineering change process end-to-end (ECRs/ECOs)—routing, tracking approvals, and ensuring changes are implemented cleanly across BOM, drawings, and downstream systems.
  • Administer configuration management for hardware programs, maintaining baseline configurations, revision history, and as-designed vs. as-built records from prototype through production.
  • Serve as the primary owner of the PLM system (item master data, workflows, access, and data quality), and manage the PLM-to-ERP data flow to keep engineering and operations systems in sync.
  • Maintain part and item master data integrity across PLM and ERP.
  • Support document control—release, revision, and archival of drawings, specifications, and work instructions—ensuring the latest approved versions are always accessible to the teams that need them.
  • Maintain traceability records (lot/serial genealogy, supplier certifications) to support quality, audit, and program compliance requirements.
  • Partner with engineering, manufacturing, quality, and supply chain to ensure released data supports production readiness, and flag data or process gaps before they impact build schedules.
  • Support new product introduction (NPI) programs by standing up PLM/ERP structures early and ensuring a clean data foundation as programs transition from development to production.
  • Generate reports and metrics on change cycle time, data quality, and configuration status to give program and engineering leadership visibility into process health.
Requirements
  • 6+ years in PLM, configuration management, or document control, ideally in hardware/defense.
  • Hands-on PLM experience (Arena, Windchill, Teamcenter, or similar) and familiarity with PLM-ERP integration.
  • Strong grasp of BOM structures (EBOM/MBOM), part numbering, and revision/effectivity management.
  • Experience running ECR/ECO processes cross-functionally.
  • Working knowledge of configuration management and as-designed vs. as-built reconciliation.
  • Comfortable partnering with electrical, mechanical, or optical engineering teams.
  • Excellent attention to detail and data hygiene instincts.
  • Strong organizational skills; brings structure to ambiguous, fast-moving work.
  • Proficient in Excel/Sheets; SQL or scripting a plus.
  • Clear written and verbal communicator.

Compensation may vary within the posted range based on relevant experience, skills, education, and other job-related factors. In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for equity and other forms of compensation. Eligible employees also receive a competitive benefits package, including unlimited PTO.

Rivet is an Equal Opportunity Employer. All qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to any characteristic protected by applicable law. Certain roles may require U.S. Person status, security clearance eligibility, or other requirements imposed by law or government contract.
