Job summary

Mack Trucks in Greensboro, NC seeks an experienced attorney to guide litigation, risk management, and outside counsel, reporting to the Vice President of Legal, Litigation. This on-site role centers on product liability and warranty matters for Mack and VTNA.

The base pay ranges from $143,600 to $177,300 per year, with potential bonus eligibility; travel is expected domestically and internationally in support of business objectives.

Qualifications

• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Active license to practice law in at least one state.
• Minimum 5 years of litigation experience, in-house or private practice.
• Knowledge of product liability and warranty law; experience in transportation industry or automotive/heavy truck products is a plus.
• Experience advising cross-functional teams and managing outside counsel.

Responsibilities

• Identify and mitigate legal risk related to Mack/VTNA products, including defense of product liability and warranty claims.
• Deliver cross-functional legal support for product safety, engineering, service, product planning, sales, marketing, and communications.
• Minimize legal claims through compliance, timely reporting, and accurate record-keeping.
• Review advertising and marketing materials for claim substantiation and disclosures.
• Conduct training sessions for business groups on potential legal exposures and best practices.
• Ensure North America Legal achieves cost vs. results balance and provides effective communications.
• Identify and communicate significant legal risk to GC, business partners, and insurers.
• Participate in Industry/Commercial Legal organizations on behalf of Mack/VTNA.
• Foster a proactive, collaborative Legal department aligned with business goals.
