Job description

About Luminary

Luminary is the AI-native system of action for wealth transfer services.

About Luminary

Luminary is the AI-native system of action for wealth transfer services. High net worth households controlling more than $90 trillion in assets are meaningfully underserved by technology that was built for the mass market. As private client investment and banking products have commoditized, these clients are looking for more tax and wealth transfer advice which has previously been impossible to deliver at scale. Luminary solves this problem by transforming complex estate planning and ownership documents into a structured, proprietary data asset that powers verticalized, agent-driven workflows for tax and wealth transfer services. Our built-in multi-firm collaboration connects a client's full advisor ecosystem and is the core infrastructure that enables our customers to deliver a highly personalized, end-to-end wealth transfer service offering at scale. Our 1,000+ customers are leaders across the private client services ecosystem — including wealth managers from exclusive multi-family offices through top private banks and trust companies, national tax advisory practices, and law firms among the AM Law 100. Our focus and proprietary data positions us to rapidly expand from a wedge in wealth transfer advice into large, adjacent TAMs including trust administration and estate distribution. Founded and led by CEO David Barnard, former Head of Wealth Management at AllianceBernstein, Luminary is backed by 8VC, Fin Capital, Rockefeller Capital, Focus Financial Partners, and several family offices.

The Opportunity

As a Product Lead at Luminary, you will lead a multidisciplinary team to create industry‑leading products that power the future of wealth management. You will join a talented group of product managers & designers and will report directly to Luminary’s Chief Product Officer. We’re looking for someone who is a true problem‑solver at heart and has a strong desire to dive into an industry with huge problems and opportunities in an effort to drive transformational change. You are extremely customer‑focused, process and detail‑driven, and love bringing simplicity to technically complex problems. You thrive in a fast‑paced and results‑oriented environment and are willing to take risks and experience failure along the way. You are design‑oriented, think in terms of KPIs, and enjoy learning about and applying new technologies to solve customer problems in a user‑centric way.

What You’ll Do
  • Work directly with our CPO and executive team to define the vision and strategy for your area of the product and business
  • Deeply understand our customers (RIAs and institutional wealth management firms), their clients (ultra high net worth individuals) and their workflows
  • Partner closely with our design and engineering teams to build intuitive and delightful products for wealth managers, attorneys and asset owners
  • Interact directly with customers and users to unearth pain points and discover new product opportunities
  • Work closely with our internal subject matter experts and advisory board to define detailed specifications for new product features
  • Create and own your team’s success metrics
Qualities we’d be excited to see in an applicant:
  • 6+ years of product management experience, ideally in fintech
  • Experience owning a significant product roadmap from strategic inception to launch, ideally for a complex multi‑product platform
  • Approach decision making with a data‑informed mindset, with the ability to gather both qualitative and quantitative data, emerge with insights, and come to well‑reasoned conclusions
  • Keen communication and writing ability necessary to work collaboratively across functions (product, design, engineering, sales, customer success, marketing)
  • Outstanding UX/UI sensibilities
  • Technical fluency that enables you to creatively explore possibilities and challenge constraints with engineering, with demonstrated ability to earn the respect of talented engineers
  • An enthusiasm for building AI‑first products and experiences
Why you’ll love working here…
  • You’ll have a rare opportunity to work alongside our CPO, CEO and CTO and learn from industry and tech leaders with decades of experience who have built and run multiple billion dollar+ companies
  • You’ll be a part of a small and nimble team where your work has measurable impact to the business’s success
  • You're excited to assume a critical role in building foundational product that will define the future of our businessYou enjoy a fast‑paced environment where we’re constantly shipping new product, and learning from customers and prospects
