Job summary

Acara Solutions, Inc. is seeking a Product Introduction Field Modification Engineer in West Mifflin, PA for a 6-12 month contract with the possibility of permanent hire. The role tests, commissions, and modifies railway vehicle systems in the field, delivering configuration files and documentation.

You will coordinate with procurement, production, and project teams to ensure timely field modifications, adherence to EHS rules, and quality targets while maintaining customer acceptance criteria.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.
  • Minimum of 3 years of professional experience as a mechanical, manufacturing, or quality engineer.
  • Experience in Testing & Commissioning of electrical, control, onboard communications & network systems within process industry, railways, or factory automation.
  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to work closely with both internal teams and external customers.
  • Ability to speak, write, and read in the English language.

Responsibilities

  • Define and deliver modification files for implementation on the various applicable configurations of the product in the field in accordance with engineering & customer acceptance criteria.
  • Verification of field modification files, including test procedures (completeness, availability, validation).
  • Plan and coordinate the creation of field modification files and any other relevant documentation.
  • Establish the necessary qualified staffing and liaise with procurement to ensure timely supplies of associated tools and materials, interfacing with the production site and the Project Implementation team.
  • Coordinate and ensure timely deployment of all modifications in collaboration with the Project Management, Project Implementation, and the customer.
  • Ensure quality, cost, and delays of the field modifications through the selection of appropriate competencies.

What You'll Do:

  • D - Completeness and Quality of FM implementation data recorded in the database
  • Plan and coordinate the creation of field modification files and any other relevant documentation.
  • Establish the necessary qualified staffing and liaise with procurement to ensure timely supplies of associated tools and materials, interfacing with the production site and the Project Implementation team.
  • Verification of field modification files, including test procedures (completeness, availability, validation).
  • Coordinate and ensure timely deployment (and optimization of train downtime) of all modifications in collaboration with the Project Management, Project Implementation, and the customer.
  • Ensure quality, cost, and delays of the field modifications through the selection of appropriate competencies (e.g., special processes)
  • Support PrPIM in all field modification-related matters.
  • Implement and enforce Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) requirements (Environment, Health & Safety) on the Project Implementation customer site, with the support of Environment, Health & Safety (EHS) team representatives.
  • Ensure Project Implementation processes are respected.
  • Ensure the implementation of appropriate action plans in the event of any deviation or non-conformity within the perimeter of Facility Management implementation.
  • Supervise Supplier modification implementation if necessary.
  • Ensure data management & updates regarding Facility Management are reported in the same tools.
  • Integrate respect for EHS rules (Environment, Health & Safety rules) and any work-related processes.
  • Take Return of Experience (REX) about the first modification implementation and adjust/optimize documents & tools for cost and time.
