This role utilizes engineering expertise, advanced analytical techniques, and cross-functional collaboration to assess product performance, identify root causes, evaluate risk, and support decisions regarding product recalls, customer satisfaction campaigns, regulatory filings, and corrective actions.The position serves as a key technical liaison between Product Integrity, Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality, Legal, Regulatory Affairs, and Field Operations to ensure Daimler Truck products meet applicable safety, quality, and compliance requirements. tuition assistance and volunteer paid time off; short-term and long-term disability plans.What You Drive at DTNAProduct Defect InvestigationsLead investigations into potential product defects involving commercial vehicles, components, systems, and field performance concerns.Collect, analyze, and interpret data from warranty claims, customer complaints, service records, telematics, field reports, testing activities, and engineering documentation.Conduct root cause analysis utilizing structured problem-solving methodologies and engineering principles.Assess potential safety risks, product compliance risks, and business impacts associated with identified concerns.Develop investigation findings and technical recommendations supported by quantitative and qualitative evidence.Regulatory ComplianceEnsure products comply with applicable federal motor vehicle safety standards, emissions regulations, and other regulatory requirements.Prepare and submit documentation required by governmental agencies, including defect reports, compliance documentation, and regulatory correspondence.Monitor emerging regulatory changes and evaluate potential impacts to products, engineering decisions, and business operations.Support regulatory audits, inquiries, investigations, and agency interactions as needed.Recall and Campaign Management SupportSupport evaluation and execution activities associated with safety recalls, field service campaigns, customer satisfaction actions, and other corrective actions.Provide technical input and risk assessments used to support executive decision-making regarding product actions.Participate in recall strategy discussions and implementation planning.Track corrective action effectiveness and closure of identified issues.Cross-Functional Technical LeadershipCollaborate with Engineering, Manufacturing, Quality Assurance, Legal, Compliance, Purchasing, Field Service, and Marketing teams to resolve product concerns.Provide technical guidance regarding product design modifications, validation testing requirements, product labeling, owner communications, and technical literature.Facilitate discussions among stakeholders to align on investigation findings, corrective actions, and compliance requirements.Support continuous improvement initiatives related to product quality, safety, and field performance.Data Analytics and ReportingPerform detailed data analysis using engineering and statistical methodologies to identify trends, emerging issues, and potential safety risks.Develop technical reports, executive summaries, presentations, and recommendations for leadership review.Present investigation findings and risk assessments to senior management and cross-functional review boards.Maintain accurate records of investigations, supporting analyses, and regulatory documentation.Process ImprovementDevelop, implement, and maintain processes that support product compliance and defect investigation activities.Participate in audits and assessments designed to verify compliance with internal standards and regulatory requirements.Recommend process enhancements that improve investigation efficiency, quality, and organizational effectiveness.Knowledge You Should BringBachelor's degree in Engineering or related technical discipline.Experience performing engineering analysis, technical investigations, or problem-solving activities.Demonstrated experience analyzing and interpreting large sets of technical or operational data.Strong analytical, organizational, and critical thinking skills.Excellent written, verbal, and presentation communication skills.Ability to work effectively within cross-functional teams.Exceptional Candidates Might HaveExperience in product integrity, product safety, vehicle engineering, quality engineering, compliance engineering, or field performance analysis.Knowledge of commercial vehicle systems and operations.Familiarity with warranty analysis, field data analysis, telematics data, or customer complaint investigations.Experience supporting regulatory compliance activities and interactions with governmental agencies.Knowledge of root cause analysis methodologies and structured problem-solving techniques.Experience presenting technical findings to leadership audiences.Working knowledge of safety regulations applicable to commercial vehicles.#LI-CF1#LI-HYBRIDWhere We WorkThis position is open to applicants who can work in (or relocate to) the following location(s)-Portland, OR US.
