The Seattle Times, the Pulitzer Prize-winning newspaper, is looking for a reliable Product Insert Helper to join our Operations team. Commonly called an “Insert Helper” in the print industry, this hands‑on role assists with inserting advertising materials, supplements, comics, and other printed materials directly into newspapers. This role requires focused attention throughout repetitive production work and maintaining a steady work pace to support daily newspaper distribution.
This role is well-suited for someone looking to supplement their income while picking up a few weekend shifts.
This is a part‑time position, requiring approximately 10 hours per week (or more as needed) to cover one or both Saturday shifts. Those include 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. and/or 6:30 p.m. to 12:30 a.m.
New hires can expect to make $17.76 per hour to start, which is our standard pay rate.
This position requires you to join a union and pay ongoing union dues each month. In addition, you will be required to undergo a pre‑employment drug screen for controlled substances (excludes cannabis) once an offer has been made.
