Job summary

VetsEZ is seeking a Software Product Engineer for a 100% remote role on a large federal government project. You will lead design and development of cloud-based, AI-enabled healthcare systems with Node.js/TypeScript and microservices architecture.

The candidate will join cross-functional teams to translate product requirements into scalable solutions, using AWS services and CI/CD practices. US residency within the continental US is required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field.
• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including AI-enabled systems in production.
• Strong hands-on experience with React and Node.js/TypeScript and building production-grade services.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools and cloud data/messaging services (AWS).
• Proven ability to design event-driven, microservices architectures and implement CI/CD pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design and build event-driven, data-intensive backend services in Node.js/TypeScript with cloud-native components.
• Decompose healthcare and AI workflows into microservices with clear data ownership and inter-service communication.
• Lead or participate in test-driven development with strong test coverage across unit/integration/contract tests.
• Develop AI pipelines processing structured and unstructured data for intelligent decision systems.
• Create scalable AI-enabled systems to support healthcare platforms and AI-driven applications.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to translate requirements into deployable solutions.
• Support project objectives and adapt to changing needs.
