Job summary

Allegion is seeking an entry-level Product Experience Specialist to support testing and validation of new and updated products. You’ll collaborate with Product Development, Technical Services, and Field Specialist teams to enhance customer-touchpoints and assist with launches.

You will help gather feedback, document improvements, and participate in early prototype testing, with training and mentorship provided to develop product experience and engineering skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering or related field required.
  • Internship or coursework related to electronic locking, security, or customer experience is preferred.
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth and Wi‑Fi product connectivity (school projects/internships acceptable).
  • Interest in Access Control and Electronic Security Industry.
  • Willingness to learn about Electro-mechanical Locking Devices, Gateway/Bridge Communication, Access Control, Mobile Apps, POE, and Cloud components.
  • Good communication and presentation skills; ability to develop these further.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to use small hand tools.
  • Ability to clearly communicate solutions in customer-friendly language.
  • Empathy for customer experiences during installation and use of Allegion products.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

  • Promote design guidelines and UI/UX best practices learned.
  • Help drive common features across Allegion products to improve user experience.
  • Support customer experience validations with actual product installations and use cases, under supervision.
  • Train with and assist Field Specialist associates to extend Product Experience support.
  • Help expand alpha/beta test sites as directed.
  • Work collaboratively with local, US-based, and international teams, primarily remote.
  • Learn to manage multiple projects and priorities with guidance.

Product Experience Specialist - Carmel, Indiana (Hybrid)-Remote New Jersey-Remote Colorado

(Candidates in New Jersey or Colorado will work remotely, but will need to reside within the state to report to local offices for business needs when required)

Job Summary

The entry-level Product Experience Specialist will support the customer experience-based testing and validation of Allegion's new and updated products. This role will work with Product Development, Technical Services, and Field Specialist teams to help define and improve customer-facing touch points. What You Need to Succeed
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (EE, EET, CE, CET, ME, MET), Informatics or related field.
  • Internship or coursework related to electronic locking, security, or customer experience preferred but not required.
  • Familiarity with Bluetooth and Wi-Fi product connectivity and use (can be through school projects or internships).
  • Interest in Access Control and Electronic Security Industry.
  • Basic computer literacy and comfort with Microsoft Office Applications.
  • Willingness to learn about Electro-mechanical Locking Devices, Gateway/Bridge Communication, Access Control, Mobile Applications, POE power, and Cloud components.
  • Good communication and presentation skills; willingness to develop these skills further.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn to use small hand tools.
  • Ability to clearly communicate solutions in customer-friendly language.
  • Empathy for customer experiences while installing and using Allegion products.
  • Ability to accurately capture and communicate customer concerns for action by the project team, with support.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.
