Job summary

Skyworks Solutions, Inc. in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, invites motivated students to join as a Product Engineering Summer/Fall Co-Op from June to December 2027.

You will work alongside seasoned engineers on new product introductions and sustaining products. This role offers hands-on data analysis of ATE, wafer probe, and characterization, plus the chance to build scripts and automated workflows to boost productivity and engineering insights.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's in an engineering field.
• Willing to work onsite in Cedar Rapids, IA for 6 months (Jun-Dec 2027).
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with statistical data analysis techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications (Excel, PowerPoint, Word).
• Strong written and verbal communication; ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Support Product Engineering activities for new product introductions and sustaining products.
• Analyze ATE, wafer probe, characterization, and manufacturing data to identify trends and root causes.
• Generate technical summaries, statistical reports, and engineering presentations from large data sets.
• Assist in qualification and reliability activities with data analysis and documentation.
• Support RMA investigations by coordinating testing and reviewing results.
• Develop scripts, tools, or automated workflows to improve productivity and data analysis.
• Work with AI-enabled engineering platforms and modern software tools to streamline workflows.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside seasoned engineers to support Product Engineering activities for new product introductions and sustaining products.
• Analyze ATE, wafer probe, characterization, and manufacturing data to identify trends, determine root causes, and improve product performance.
• Generate technical summaries, statistical reports, and engineering presentations from large data sets.
• Assist in qualification and reliability activities, including data analysis and documentation support.
• Support customer return (RMA) investigations by coordinating testing, reviewing results, and helping determine corrective actions.
• Collect and analyze characterization data, including bench-to-ATE correlation activities.
• Work with cross-functional engineering teams to resolve product, process, and test-related issues.
• Contribute to yield enhancement, test-time reduction, and cost optimization projects.
• Assist with product documentation, release packages, and manufacturing readiness activities.
• Develop scripts, tools, or automated workflows to improve engineering productivity and data analysis efficiency.
• Work with AI-enabled engineering platforms and modern software tools to streamline workflows.

Required Experience and Skills

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in:
  • Electrical Engineering
  • Computer Engineering
  • Electrical and Computer Engineering
  • Related engineering discipline
• Must be willing and able to work onsite in our Cedar Rapids location for 6 months (Jun-Dec 2027)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Familiarity with statistical data analysis techniques.
• Basic understanding of semiconductors, electronics, or test engineering fundamentals.
• Ability to analyze data and communicate technical findings effectively.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word and other Office applications.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Desired Experience and Skills

• Interest in semiconductor manufacturing, product development, and test engineering.
• Coursework in embedded systems, mixed-signal circuits, RF, or semiconductor devices.
• Ability to interpret schematics and troubleshoot electronic systems.
• Experience or exposure to programming, scripting, or data analysis tools such as Python, MATLAB, JMP, SQL, Power BI, or similar platforms for data analysis, automation, and engineering problem-solving.
• Familiarity with version control and collaboration platforms such as GitHub.
• Knowledge of Machine Learning, AI and data automation tools.
• Experience working with large data sets, data visualization and reporting.

Pay

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $29.00 - $49.00 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $23.00 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
