Job summary

Pace Labs in Minnesota is seeking a hands-on Lab Assistant to support the product engineering team with testing and data analysis. The role involves operating sterilization vessels, preparing samples, documenting results, and contributing to new test method development in a shared lab.

Requirements include a Bachelor's in Chemistry, Biology, or related field, prior lab experience, and strong written and verbal communication.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or applicable scientific field.
• Previous lab experience and/or knowledge of routine testing procedures and equipment.
• Experience with sterilizers or autoclaves is a plus.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform standard and routine testing using sterilizing equipment to determine characteristics and performance of materials.
• Operate and maintain lab instruments including sterilization vessels.
• Document results in ELN and prepare detailed reports.
• Assist in establishing new product specifications and test methods.

The products being developed are crucial to sterilization efforts of medical instruments within the healthcare industry. Work is performed independently in a shared lab environment.Compensation: $22.00 per hourResponsibilities:Performing standard and routine testing using sterilizing equipment to determine specific characteristics and performance of materialsOperating and maintaining a variety of lab instruments including sterilization vesselsSample preparation, data analysis, documentation and interpretation of results, and preparing detailed reports as requiredParticipating in the establishment of new product specifications, test method development and new equipment qualifications as neededDocumenting results in an electronic laboratory notebook (ELN) following standard documentation practicesRequirements:Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Biology or applicable scientific fieldPrevious lab experience and/or knowledge of routine testing procedures and equipmentExperience with sterilizers or autoclaves a plusStrong verbal and written communication skillsActive listening skillsAttention to detailUnderstanding the basic concept of measurement systems, testing and calibrationThis position will require good time management skills and a high level of independence after the training phase. Good organizational skills, record keeping and follow through will be integral to success.
