Job description

The Product Engineering Manager will lead and implement a cross-functional engineering team in Mount Joy, PA. The current team consists of 7 full-time Product Engineers, with the potential of an annual Rotational Engineer, and an Intern joining down the line.

The Manager will lead, manage, support, analyze, and assist in all aspects of sustaining Aerospace, Defense and Marine (ADM) connector systems products including overseeing product data creation and driving excellence in part number maintenance at drawing level for up to 30 Global Product Lines including new & legacy rectangular and military circular connectors. They will act as a member of the Plant Leadership team, participating in regular operations meetings and helping to influence the operations strategy of two Pennsylvania plants.

The ideal candidate is a fast learner, has broad leadership and product experience with commercial aerospace and defense electrical connectors and related components.

Expectations will include:

• Working with local Operations Staff and ADM Connectors Engineering leadership to drive implementation on a wide variety of targeted technical assignments including engineering sample preparations, plant level interactions with peer engineering managers, develop strong relationships with product managers and other customer-facing sales personnel.
• Maintaining continuous follow-up on sustaining engineering activities, product migration activities, and accountability for team completion of assigned engineering projects within project scheduling guidelines
• Planning, prioritizing, and actively managing the team to drive performance and results on multiple technical related projects and daily tasks related to the Engineering Change system, technical documentation creation, Product Jurisdiction & Classification Assessments, and Product Compliance Tracking database systems.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s Engineering Degree or similar/related study.
• Must be a documented US citizen able to work without restrictions in ITAR/Export Controlled facility. Permanent Residents, EAD, and H1B holders are not eligible.
• Must have 7+ years of overall experience with technology based industrial operations of electrical and mechanical parts, including 3+ years of demonstrated leadership success in sustaining product engineering or development engineering.
• Strong communication, leadership, and advocacy skills.
• Must be able to pass a client-specific drug screening and site-specific background check.
• Must be able to work fully onsite, 5 days per week, onsite in Mt Joy, PA. Relocation assistance available for those who are not current local.

Plusses:

• Experience working in a plant-environment.
• Bilingual/proficient in Spanish.
• Advanced degree such as MS Eng or MBA.
• Lean Six Sigma Green Belt or similar certification/formal training.

Compensation:

$125,000 to $150,000. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors including skills, experience, education, certifications, etc. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith. Insight Global and our clients reserve the right to adjust ranges depending on the qualifications/alignment of the selected candidate. Total compensation comprised of base salary + incentives + benefits.
