Job summary

Haworth in Holland, MI is seeking paid Product Engineering interns for a 12-week onsite summer program. You will join a cohort of about 50 interns, work on meaningful projects, and attend NeoCon to explore industry trends and innovations.

You’ll collaborate with the Product/Project Engineering Team, perform experiments, develop solutions, and build prototypes using Creo CAD. Expect workshops, mentoring, and hands-on experience in a dynamic workspace.

Qualifications

• Enrolled part-time or full-time, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering Technology by Fall 2027.
• On-site in Holland, MI, May 2027 to August 2027.
• Must have unrestricted right to work in the US.

Responsibilities

We are currently looking for paid Engineering Interns to join our team in Holland, MI. This position will be working onsite at the Haworth Corporate Headquarters. You’ll attend NeoCon, the largest commercial design event in the world, where you will get an insider’s look at all the latest industry trends and innovations. As a Product Engineering intern, you will have the opportunity to assist with a variety of exciting projects including: Working with the Product/Project Engineering Team within the Task Seating/Ancillary CoE or Architectural Solution Team in the Walls Plant, performing experiments with parts/materials, identifying root‑cause of product design issues, developing potential solutions, creating/revising Creo CAD models, building prototypes, collecting and analyzing data, and reviewing test results.

Required Qualifications

• Part‑time or full‑time college enrollment, working towards a bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Product Design Engineering Technology with at least a junior level status by Fall of 2027.
• Ability to work On‑site in Holland, MI from May 2027 to August 2027.
• Applicants must possess an unrestricted right to work in the US to be eligible for the position.

Preferred Qualifications

• Overall GPA of 2.95 or higher
• Prior Haworth Experience
• Previous Employment Experience
• Extra‑Curricular Activity Experience such as athletics, clubs, volunteer work, etc.
• Comfortable with hand tools for assembly or disassembly of products
• Experience with CAD, ideally CREO or SolidWorks
• Experience with 3D Printing
• Knowledge of machining (CNC mill, lathe, band saw)

Ideally, You Have Also Demonstrated The Following

• Ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Working knowledge of personal computers, spreadsheet applications, and keyboard skills.
• Desire to learn, question, and research solutions to problems.
• Organized with the ability to manage deadlines.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
