As a Short Range Product Manager, you will serve as the technical bridge between our customers and internal engineering teams, ensuring the successful design, integration, and delivery of complex IoT products. You will play a key role in shaping the system architecture, driving cross-functional alignment, and ensuring our products meet functional, performance, and quality expectations.
Responsibilities:
- Define and document system-level architecture for IoT products integrating hardware, firmware, wireless connectivity (Wi-Fi, BLE, LTE, etc.), sensors, and cloud interfaces.
- Lead system block diagram creation, interface definitions, and design trade-offs.
2- Requirements Analysis & Specification
- Work closely with OEM customers to capture use cases and system-level requirements.
- Translate business and user needs into detailed technical specifications for cross-functional teams.
3- Cross-Functional Coordination
- Collaborate with hardware, software, mechanical, RF, and test engineering teams to ensure smooth system integration.
- Identify and mitigate system-level risks early in the development cycle.
4- System Validation & Debug
- Support DVT/PVT activities by developing and reviewing system-level test plans and analyzing complex issues involving multiple domains.
- Participate in debugging system-level issues spanning hardware, firmware, and cloud/app layers.
5- Customer Interaction & Support
- Provide technical leadership in customer meetings, design reviews, and field escalations.
- Act as a key technical contact for OEM customers during development phases.
6- Documentation
- Develop and maintain clear, structured documentation including interface control documents (ICDs), system specs, and integration guides.
Educational and Skill Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
- More than 5 years of experience in embedded systems or system engineering roles, preferably within an ODM or IoT environment.
- Strong understanding of embedded hardware/software co-design.
- Experience with wireless technologies: Wi-Fi, BLE, Cellular (LTE/Cat-M/NB-IoT).
- Hands-on experience with MCUs, RTOS, Linux, or embedded firmware stacks.
- Experience analyzing logs, system boot flows, and hardware interface interactions (I2C, SPI, UART, USB, etc.).
- Familiarity with system validation processes (DVT, PVT, EVT).
- Excellent communication skills and ability to interface with technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Preferred Requirements
- Experience with cloud integration (e.g., AWS IoT, Azure IoT, MQTT).
- Knowledge of power optimization, thermal design, and RF coexistence.
- Exposure to regulatory and compliance aspects (FCC, CE, BT SIG, etc.).
- Familiarity with IoT verticals such as smart home, industrial automation, or asset tracking.
