Job summary

Rinker Materials Career Center in the United States (DeLand, FL) is seeking a Product Engineer to lead development, review designs, and optimize concrete products for performance and cost. You will test mixes, collaborate with quality control and suppliers, ensure codes and standards, and support cost analysis and documentation across cross-functional teams.

A PE license and 2+ years in precast or concrete industries are preferred; PPVC experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural Engineering; PE license required.
• Minimum 2 years in construction, structural, or precast concrete.
• PPVC project experience is a plus.
• Ability to review and validate drawings, specs, and calculations.
• Knowledge of ACI, PCI, ASTM, and local codes preferred.

About the Role:

• Lead or contribute to the development of new concrete products, considering performance, cost, and market requirements.
• Create and review product designs, ensuring they meet industry standards, customer specifications, and regulatory requirements.
• Conduct testing and analysis of concrete mixes to assess and improve product performance and durability.
• Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards for concrete products.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement in concrete production to enhance efficiency and product consistency.
• Work with raw material suppliers to evaluate and select materials suitable for concrete manufacturing.
• Assist in cost analysis and value engineering to optimize product performance while managing production costs.
• Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, testing results, and design changes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, quality control, and sales, to address product-related challenges and opportunities.
• Ensure that concrete products comply with relevant industry standards, codes, and regulations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive continuous improvement in product design and manufacturing processes.
• Ability and willingness to review, approve, and seal engineering drawings and calculations in accordance with applicable state engineering licensurerequirements
• Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including management and customers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
• Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in the construction, structural, or precast concrete industry.
• Prior experience with PPVC (Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction) projects is an added advantage.
• Proficient in reviewing, interpreting, and validating engineering, design, and production-related drawings, specifications, and calculations.
• Strong knowledge of building construction principles, structural design concepts, precast and prefabricated building systems, construction details, and applicable building codes, engineering standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
• Ability to apply sound engineering judgment to support product design, manufacturing processes, and technical problem-solving.
• Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including applicable ACI, PCI, ASTM, and local code requirements, preferred.
