Job summary

Rinker Materials in Florida is seeking a Product Engineer to drive development, improvement, and optimization of concrete products. You will lead design reviews, perform testing, and collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure performance and cost targets are met.

The role emphasizes documentation, adherence to industry standards, and engagement with suppliers and production teams to deliver high-quality concrete solutions.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil/Structural engineering required.
  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in construction, structural, or precast concrete.
  • Experience with PPVC projects is an added advantage.
  • Ability to review and validate engineering, design and production drawings, specifications and calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction principles, precast systems and applicable codes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead or contribute to development of new concrete products, considering performance, cost and market requirements.
  • Create and review product designs, ensuring they meet industry standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct testing and analysis of concrete mixes to assess and improve performance and durability.
  • Collaborate with quality control teams to establish and maintain high-quality standards.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement in concrete production to enhance efficiency.
  • Work with raw material suppliers to evaluate and select materials suitable for concrete manufacturing.
  • Assist in cost analysis and value engineering to optimize product performance while managing costs.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of product specifications, testing results and design changes.
  • Collaborate with production, quality control and sales to address product challenges and opportunities.
  • Ensure that concrete products comply with relevant industry standards, codes and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies and best practices to drive continuous improvement.
  • Review, approve, and seal engineering drawings and calculations per licensure requirements.
  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Effectively communicate technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders, including management and customers.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or a related engineering discipline required; Professional Engineer (P.E.) license required.
  • Minimum 2 years of engineering experience in the construction, structural, or precast concrete industry.
  • Prior experience with PPVC (Prefabricated Prefinished Volumetric Construction) projects is an added advantage.
  • Proficient in reviewing, interpreting, and validating engineering, design, and production-related drawings, specifications, and calculations.
  • Strong knowledge of building construction principles, structural design concepts, precast and prefabricated building systems, construction details, and applicable building codes, engineering standards, regulations, and quality requirements.
  • Ability to apply sound engineering judgment to support product design, manufacturing processes, and technical problem-solving.
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards, including applicable ACI, PCI, ASTM, and local code requirements, preferred.
