Job summary

Quantum Design in San Diego, CA is seeking a Product Engineer to serve as the Cognizant Engineer for measurement options, processes, and production tools, ensuring product quality, reliability, and manufacturing efficiency across R&D, Production, and QA teams.

You will own final test procedures, fixturing, calibration standards, and test software, drive engineering design changes, and lead continuous improvement initiatives with cross-functional partners in a 100% onsite role.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in physics, engineering, or a related technical field.
• Two years of professional experience supporting complex products, systems, or instrumentation.
• Experience writing manufacturing instructions clearly and concisely.

Responsibilities

• Support all manufacturing departments for improving product quality by improving documentation clarity, revising fixturing, auditing quality checks, and implementing process changes.
• Identify and resolve trending and critical failures in the field and in the factory, as relate to both hardware and software.
• Initiate incremental process/product improvements which improve quality, increase efficiency, lower costs, and enhance customer satisfaction.
• Execute full circle engineering design change (Analyze NCRs, Write ECOs, Close CARs) by addressing all ramifications of a design change.
• Maintain and improve critical fixtures and/or software tools.
• Provide troubleshooting support where required.
• Communicate relevant design improvements to stakeholders across international offices by contributing content to the monthly product update newsletter.
