Job summary

Wolfspeed, Inc. in North Carolina seeks an experienced Process Development Engineering Manager to lead etch, photolithography and metrology development for next‑generation SiC power devices.

You will manage a team of process development engineers and drive the process roadmap to deliver robust device performance. The role requires strong technical leadership, deep fabrication knowledge, and a proven track record of delivering yield improvements through innovative unit processes and close

Qualifications

  • PhD in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or closely related field.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and people management.
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device fabrication.
  • Experience in process integration or process development in a semiconductor fab or lab.
  • Strong knowledge of various etch techniques (RIE, ICP etching, wet etch).
  • Knowledge of material characterization techniques (OES, SEM, Ellipsometry, AFM, XRF).
  • Experience with photolithography techniques (aligners, steppers, scanners).
  • Familiarity with CSDEM and optical metrology techniques.
  • Experience with SPC and DOE methodologies.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a team of process development engineers and provide regular guidance on technical projects.
  • Lead development/improvement of etch and photolithography processes and metrology strategy to advance next-gen power devices.
  • Define and execute Wolfspeed's power device process roadmap.
  • Oversee projects to enhance device performance and yields.
  • Collaborate with R&D design/integration teams to create unit processes meeting specs.
  • Provide technical process development leadership and drive continuous improvement in a fast-paced environment.

Job description

Here's the Gist :

We currently have a need for a Process Development Engineering Manager- Etch, Photo and Metrology within The Power Device Technology Development Group.

As a Process Development Engineering Manager in the Power R&D group, you will oversee all development of novel process capabilities that will advance Wolfspeed's SiC power device technology.

We are looking for a highly motivated candidate with a strong track record of innovation, ingenuity and technical leadership.

This position will be based in North Carolina.

  • Manage a team of process development engineers and provide regular guidance on technical projects
  • Lead the development and improvement of etch and photolithography processes, as well as overall power device metrology strategy, to drive the development of robust next generation power semiconductor devices
  • Define and execute on Wolfspeed's power device process roadmap
  • Oversee technical projects to enhance product performance and improve product yields
  • Spearhead collaborations with the R&D design and integration teams to create unit processes to meet customer specifications
  • Provide technical process development leadership
  • Drive innovation and continuous improvement in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

This Job is Right for You if You Have (Minimum Requirements)
  • PhD. Degree in Chemistry, Materials Science, Chemical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics, or any closely related Engineering field.
  • Proven track record of technical leadership and people management
  • Strong understanding of semiconductor device fabrication
  • Experience in process integration or process development in a semiconductor fab or lab environment.
  • Strong knowledge of various etch techniques, such as reactive ion etching, inductively coupled plasma etching, various wet etch techniques
  • Working knowledge of material characterization techniques, such as OES, SEM, Ellipsometry, AFM, XRF and/or other similar techniques
  • Experience in various photolithography techniques, including aligners, steppers and scanners
  • Strong knowledge of CSDEM and optical metrology techniques
  • Experience with SPC and DOE methodology
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
