Job summary
Hex is seeking a Product Engineer Intern to help build the next generation of AI-powered data tooling. You will contribute to features that help data teams explore, analyze, and collaborate using natural language and agentic AI capabilities.
You will work across the stack with mentors, designers, PMs, and AI engineers to ship real features, learn from experienced engineers, and contribute meaningfully to a fast-evolving technical space.
Qualifications
- Pursuing a CS/Engineering degree, graduating in December 2026 or 2027.
- Full-stack engineering experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python and shipped projects.
- Interest in AI-driven product experiences and production systems.
- Care about users and translating technical systems into polished experiences.
- Curious, adaptable, and able to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Build real product features across the stack using React, TypeScript, and/or Python.
- Collaborate with AI engineers to prototype agentic capabilities and prompting strategies.
- Design and improve end-to-end workflows for collaborative editing and data exploration.
- Solve engineering challenges like performance, UX improvements, and API design for AI features.
- Participate in the full development lifecycle from ideation to launch.
