Job summary

Hex is seeking a Product Engineer Intern to help build AI-powered data tooling. You’ll work across the stack with mentors, designers, PMs, and AI engineers to create delightful, reliable experiences. You’ll ship features that empower data teams to explore and collaborate using natural language and agentic AI in production.

The role requires curiosity and adaptability in a fast-paced environment, with 3 days per week in our San Francisco office, plus remote-friendly options and housing stipends.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field.
• Full-stack engineering experience with JavaScript/TypeScript and/or Python.
• Interest in AI-driven product experiences and production systems.

Responsibilities

• Build real product features across the stack using React, TypeScript, and/or Python.
• Collaborate with AI engineers to prototype agentic capabilities and prompting strategies.
• Design and improve end-to-end workflows including collaboration, data exploration, and debugging.
