Job summary

ABEC in Bethlehem, PA is seeking an Engineering Intern for the Cell Therapy team. The position provides exposure to advanced cell therapy technologies, bioprocess equipment design, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.

You will contribute to design reviews, process evaluations, and documentation, while leading or supporting projects to enhance product performance. Ideal candidates are pursuing a BS in Engineering, have knowledge of 3D CAD, and strong written/verbal communication skills.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Bio, Chemical, etc.).
• Knowledge of 3D Parametric CAD.
• Proficient with Word and Excel.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail oriented with strong drafting standards understanding.

Responsibilities

• Lead a summer project to improve design and manufacturability.
• Assist in product development by researching and gathering data.
• Create prototypes and proof-of-concept models.
• Conduct testing and report defects to the Product Manager.
• Create and maintain product specifications, user manuals, and test plans.
• Identify process improvements to boost efficiency and quality.
• Evaluate product costs with operations to reduce expenses.
• Collaborate in a professional team-based office environment.
• Execute additional tasks as assigned.
