Job summary

ABEC seeks a DC Engineer Intern to support the Manufacturing Engineering team in Wilson, NC. This role provides hands-on exposure to manufacturing processes, data collection, analysis, and engineering projects in a dynamic production environment.

You will work with engineering and operations personnel to identify opportunities for improvement, collect data, implement solutions, and present findings that contribute to operational excellence objectives.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication abilities.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications.
• Ability to carry a project from conception to production.

Responsibilities

• Support projects focused on improving productivity, quality, safety, and cost efficiency.
• Identify and implement manufacturing process improvements and best practices.
• Assist with researching, testing, and improving manufacturing methods and equipment.
• Analyze workflows and recommend solutions to increase efficiency.
• Support facility layout and workspace optimization initiatives.
• Collect and analyze production data to support continuous improvement efforts.
• Prepare project documentation, reports, and work instructions.
• Participate in project meetings and provide status updates.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to solve manufacturing challenges.
• Present project findings and recommendations to leadership.
