Job summary

ABEC Bethlehem, PA is seeking a Cell Therapy Engineering Intern to support the Cell Therapy Engineering team through project-based assignments and daily engineering activities. The intern will gain exposure to cell therapy technologies, bioprocess equipment design, system development, documentation, and cross-functional engineering initiatives.

Qualifications

Pursuing a BS degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Bio, Chemical, etc.).
Knowledge of 3D Parametric CAD and drafting standards.
Proficient with Microsoft Word and Excel.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; detail oriented.

Responsibilities

Lead independent summer project focused on improving design and manufacturability of ABEC’s product line.
Assist in all stages of product development by researching, gathering data, and input on features and improvements.
Create prototypes and proof-of-concept models aligned with project goals.
Conduct product testing, document defects, and report to Product Manager.
Create and maintain documentation including specs, manuals, and test plans.
Identify areas for process improvement and implement efficiency strategies.
Evaluate product costs and work with operations to reduce costs and improve margins.
Work in a team-oriented office environment and meet deadlines.
