Job summary

Esri is seeking a test engineer to focus on imagery across modalities such as HSI, MS, TIR, Radar, LiDAR, and WAMI. You will design, test, and document image analysis capabilities, and validate GIS features using Python or C#.

You will collaborate with developers and SDETs to automate test cases, execute test strategies, and produce sample code to demonstrate product capabilities. U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain TS clearance are required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, engineering, remote sensing, photogrammetry, or related field.
  • Hands-on experience in remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, or image analysis.
  • Ability to design and execute test strategies, including automation.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with experience writing technical documentation.

Overview

Apply your remote sensing experience to make a real impact on the defense and intelligence community. You enjoy solving technical challenges and thrive when you can advocate for users to help shape the tools they rely on. You will work with development and product engineering leads that are designing, developing engineering solutions, testing, and developing documentation for the products. This is an exciting opportunity to focus on imagery for multiple modalities including HSI, MS, TIR, Radar, LiDAR, Full Motion Video, WAMI, and other remotely sensed data.

Responsibilities
  • Design, test, and document image analysis capabilities for a variety of remote sensing modalities
  • Collaborate with software developers and SDETs to specify, prioritize, and automate test cases
  • Prepare and execute test strategies using both manual and automated methodologies
  • Validate GIS functionality using modern programming languages (such as Python or C#) and create sample code to showcase product features
  • Advocate for user personas by providing actionable feedback on user experience and workflow design
  • Support the integration and testing of community analytical toolkits and libraries
  • Share best practices and contribute to ArcGIS help topics, blogs, and forums
Requirements
  • 1+ years of engineering experience working on COTS or GOTS software products
  • Hands-on experience in remote sensing, image processing, photogrammetry, or image analysis
  • Ability to design and execute test strategies, including automation
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with experience writing technical documentation
  • Able to work with controlled unclassified information (CUI)
  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a U.S. Top Secret clearance with SCI access
  • Bachelor’s degree in geography, engineering, remote sensing, photogrammetry, or a related field
Recommended Qualifications
  • Master’s degree in geography, engineering, remote sensing, photogrammetry, or a related field
  • Experience in the defense and/or intelligence communities
  • Proficiency in a modern programming language (Python, C#, etc.) for testing and validation
  • Familiarity with NITF format and multiple image modalities
  • Experience with ArcGIS Pro, ENVI, Socet GXP, Erdas, or RemoteView
  • Experience designing modern commercial software

Base salary range is $70,304 — $109,200 USD
