Job summary

Esri in Redlands, CA is seeking a Software QA Engineer to test our 3D geospatial software stack. You will verify UI and backend functionality, report issues, and collaborate with developers to improve usability and release readiness.

You will work with C++, DirectX and 3D algorithms, learn our product technologies, document defects, and help translate user needs into robust tests and workflows. The role offers competitive benefits and a base salary range of $101,000–$104,000 USD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or related field.
• One year of experience in the job offered or related occupation.
• Demonstrated experience in C++, DirectX, and 3D algorithms.

Responsibilities

• Test software components and their functionality through the user interface and provide usable, informative feedback on user experience.
• Monitor and analyze test results; collaborate across teams to ensure software quality and release readiness.
• Work with software developers, technical support, and other internal stakeholders to improve existing workflows.
• Learn existing product technologies and troubleshoot production issues in current and past software platform versions.
• Document software issues found during testing; reproduce bugs and work with Software Development Engineers to resolve these issues.
• Interface with customers and collect requirements for system functionality or product design.
• Develop ideas for modifying and extending our product by understanding how users deploy and apply the ArcGIS system.
• Engage with Esri product management and user communities to translate user needs into development objectives.
• Identify user scenarios and best practice approaches for applying ArcGIS.
• Enhance and contribute to internal and end-user documentation or tutorials by articulating software functionality.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree, or foreign equivalent degree, in Computer Science, Engineering, GIS, or a related field


• One (1) year of experience in the job offered, or one (1) year of experience in a related occupation


• Demonstrated experience in C++, DirectX, and 3D Algorithms
