Job summary

Photon Kinetics is seeking a technically broad engineer to own the full lifecycle of measurement equipment from feasibility through handoff to manufacturing. You will work across optical, software, and system domains and collaborate with Manufacturing, Product Marketing, and cross-functional teams.

In year one you will lead or contribute to at least one product enhancement, establish credibility as a cross-functional technical contributor, and deepen knowledge of PK's products and markets in

Qualifications

• BS degree in Physics or related field, or equivalent experience and training.
• Comfortable modeling physical processes mathematically and computationally.
• Comfortable developing and maintaining source code from algorithms to front end application.
• Working knowledge of analog / digital circuits or optical designs or mechanical systems.
• Knowledge of at least one programming language: .Net languages, Python and/or C++.
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to work effectively as a team member and conduct effective meetings.
• Able to manage and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects.

Responsibilities

• Research & Feasibility: Conduct feasibility studies of measurement methods using mathematical and computational analysis.
• Product Design & Development: Define design parameters for measurement equipment and systems; perform optical, software, and system design.
• Manufacturing Support: Define test and acceptance criteria; assist manufacturing in development of procedures; create documentation.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Interact with managers, engineers, and technicians; collaborate with Manufacturing and Product Marketing.
• Quality & Compliance: Comply with quality procedures and travel as necessary.
