Job summary

MW Components is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer to design bellows and assemblies, using SolidWorks and EJMA calculations, and to support sales with preliminary designs for quotes.

You will review customer requirements, create manufacturing and production prints, and troubleshoot issues while liaising between production and customers. The role emphasizes analysis, design optimization, and adherence to industry standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• 3-5 years experience in product engineering, development, or related role.
• Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred).
• Strong analytical skills and experience with statistical analysis.
• Knowledge of machining processes, materials science, and sheet metal forming.
• Experience with stress calculations (tensile, shear, hoop).
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
• Proactive at seeking knowledge and understanding processes and data.
• Problem-solving mindset with creative and innovative thinking.
• Knowledge of industry standards (AS, AMS, ASME, ASTM, AWS).

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development: Design bellows and bellows assemblies using SolidWorks and EJMA calculations.
• Product Quotation: Provide preliminary design and production sequences for the sales team to quote new products.
• Production Support: Review customer requirements, create manufacturing prints, design manufacturing prints and troubleshoot production issues.
• Customer Technical Support: Serves as a link between production and customers. Respond to customer technical questions.
• Process Improvements: Conduct feasibility studies and risk assessments to identify potential issues and areas for improvement.
