Job summary

Moog Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer in Salt Lake City, UT to own production program design, manufacture, assembly, and test for missile control actuation systems. You will be the focal point for design questions, changes, and test failure diagnosis, reporting to the Site Engineering Manager in an on-site team with a 9/80 schedule.

You’ll evaluate equipment, write work instructions, and perform RCCA analyses to prevent recurring issues, traveling up to 5% to suppliers as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering or comparable field of engineering
• At least 2+ years of experience in a similar role
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, system schematics and other technical documentation with a strong preference for GD&T knowledge per ASME Y14.5
• Technical expertise in electromechanical actuation products, electronics, and related technologies
• Strong interpersonal skills for collaboration and coordination with internal and external customers, suppliers, etc., on complex projects and issues.
• The ability to write work instructions and other engineering documentation.

Responsibilities

• Be the internal and external facing day to day technical interface in the production phase.
• Support the evaluation and implementation of equipment to meet production requirements for operations department (assembly fixtures/tools, production flow-line systems, test equipment).
• Assure and maintain design integrity, producibility and quality in development and production products.
• Provide production assembly/test instructions to operations personnel to maintain efficient production.
• Perform engineering analysis to assess non-conformances or technical issues during assembly and test.
• Develop RCCA analyses to prevent recurring problems.
• Collaborate with Moog resources to resolve production problems and assist in MRB analyses.
• Coordinate with multiple departments to ensure on-time delivery of hardware.
• Drive product design changes via redlining drawings and engineering change orders.
• Travel up to 5% to customers and suppliers.
