Job summary

Precision Castparts Corp. (PCC) Groton division is seeking a Product Engineer to ensure conformance of parts produced by the Operations group.

The role targets cost reductions through design improvements, tighter process control, and improved quality of castings while supporting manufacturing to meet customer delivery timelines in line with PCC Structurals procedures. Responsibilities include on-demand technical support for manufacturing, root-cause and corrective actions for MRB, improving part

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in engineering required.
  • 2+ years in the manufacturing industry.
  • Broad knowledge of mechanical, industrial, or materials science engineering.
  • Strong data processing and Excel skills.
  • Aerospace experience and knowledge of statistics are a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Provide on-demand technical assistance for manufacturing operations.
  • Own root-cause and corrective action for MRB.
  • Improve part manufacturability through process optimization.
  • Ensure dimensional compliance through process optimization.
  • Translate customer blueprints into inspection requirements.
  • Coordinate design of gaging/fixturing/tooling for labor improvements.
  • Support dimensional evaluations including AS9102 and CMM inspections.
  • Liaise with customer contacts and cross-functional teams.
