Job description

Product Engineer – Aerospace Casting
Build What Flies. Solve Complex Problems. Advance Your Career.
Consolidated Precision Products (CPP) – Cudahy, CA

Are you an experienced casting engineer who is ready to take on bigger technical challenges and make a direct impact on aerospace manufacturing?

CPP is looking for a Product Engineer with 3+ years of casting manufacturing experience to join our team in Cudahy, CA. This is an opportunity to put your casting expertise to work on complex, high-performance aerospace components—from process development and tooling through production and continuous improvement.

At CPP, your engineering decisions don't stay on paper. You'll see your work translated into real castings, real production improvements, and components that ultimately fly on aircraft.

  • Compensation: $100,000 – $130,000 annually (DOE)
  • Quarterly Bonus Program
Why This Opportunity?

If you have hands-on experience with casting processes and enjoy solving difficult manufacturing problems, you'll have the opportunity to:

  • Own and influence casting processes from design through production
  • Solve challenging issues involving gating, tooling, molds, heat treatment, dimensional control, and metallurgy
  • Partner directly with Engineering, Quality, Tooling, Machining, Production, Sales, and customers
  • Use data, DOE, Six Sigma, statistical analysis, and problem-solving techniques to improve yields and manufacturing performance
  • Work with advanced aerospace casting technologies
  • Develop your technical expertise while working on components where quality and precision matter
  • Build a long-term career with an established aerospace manufacturer
What You'll Do

As a Product Engineer, you'll serve as a key technical resource for casting manufacturing and help ensure our processes consistently produce high-quality aerospace components.

You’ll:

  • Review, direct, and approve pattern designs to ensure dimensional requirements are met efficiently and consistently
  • Develop and optimize casting process parameters, including gating methodology, heat treatment, sand mold attributes, and other metallurgical requirements
  • Analyze manufacturing data to identify opportunities to improve process yields, reduce variation, and increase efficiency
  • Apply DOE, Six Sigma, statistical and mathematical analysis to identify root causes and drive process improvements
  • Provide technical expertise to Production Supervisors and manufacturing teams when troubleshooting casting issues
  • Partner with Quality and Sales teams to address customer technical requirements and casting specifications
  • Work directly with customers when technical discussions regarding casting design and manufacturing processes are required
  • Audit production lots to ensure established processes are followed and results remain repeatable
  • Collaborate across departments to develop practical solutions to complex manufacturing challenges
  • Communicate technical information effectively with operators, engineers, supervisors, managers, and customers
  • Promote a culture of safety, quality, continuous improvement, and operational excellence
What We're Looking For?

We're looking for someone who understands that successful casting engineering requires more than theory—you need to understand how the process actually works on the manufacturing floor.

You’ll be a strong fit if you have:

  • 3+ years of experience in casting manufacturing, foundry engineering, product engineering, or a closely related field
  • Bachelor's degree in engineering required; Materials Science, Metallurgical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline preferred
  • Experience with casting processes, tooling, gating, molds, heat treatment, or metallurgical requirements
  • CAD experience; SolidWorks preferred
  • Strong understanding of engineering drawings and dimensional requirements
  • Strong analytical, mathematical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills
  • Experience using data to identify process improvements and manufacturing opportunities
  • Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills
  • Ability to work effectively with employees and leaders at all levels of an organization
  • Confidence communicating technical information with customers and cross-functional teams

Aircraft manufacturing demands precision, consistency, and innovation. At CPP, you'll work on components where engineering excellence matters. Your experience with casting processes can help us improve yield, solve production challenges, increase efficiency, and deliver the quality our aerospace customers expect. If you're ready to take your casting experience to the next level and become a key technical contributor in aerospace manufacturing, we want to hear from you.
