Your resume and cover letter, tailored to exactly what they’re hiring for.
Dockware is seeking a technically inclined Product Engineer for our Scan Mobile app to bridge user research and implementation. You will enable shippers and drivers to capture accurate shipment data, supporting end-to-end product ownership across web and mobile platforms.
You’ll engage customers directly, translate insights into features, and contribute to UI development, while navigating ambiguity in a high-ownership environment that impacts customers and revenue.
Dockware is relentlessly driving toward the error free dock.
Every day across the world, millions of freight handlers scan, count, inspect, measure, photograph, label, read, and transcribe shipment data tens of millions of times, and errors are the rule, not the exception. Every error on the dock ripples across the rest of the value chain, leading to inventory management discrepancies, misroutes, under/over pricing, disputes, sub-optimal asset utilization, and many flavors of claims and chargebacks. As logistics underpins roughly 10% of global GDP, even marginal improvements at the dock translate into massive gains for businesses, workers, and consumers everywhere.
Using computer vision, edge hardware, and real-time ML systems, Dockware captures dimensions, condition, and identifiers for every shipment - in seconds. That data becomes a verifiable digital twin: a continuously updated, shareable record that moves with the shipment from origin to destination.
Our platform integrates directly into existing workflows, eliminating manual data entry, barcode dependency, and costly delays - while turning messy, real-world freight into clean, actionable data. The result is a system that reduces disputes, improves operational accuracy, and unlocks better decisions across the supply chain. For the full company vision, read here.
Dockware has deep Midwestern roots. Jerks, credit hogs, and elitists need not apply. We come to work and give everything because we know our teammates are doing the same. Similarly, the logistics professionals we serve make modern life possible – full stop. They deserve tech that works and real humans who answer the phone.
As a Product Engineer for our Scan Mobile app, you will bridge the gap between user research and technical implementation. The Scan Mobile app can be used by shippers or drivers, and allows either party to quickly and affordably capture all the accurate data required to originate, track, and/or validate a shipment ( Demo of one version of app here ). Dockware is also expanding mobile offerings in new customer segments where freight handlers and supervisors need phone or tablet based interaction on the dock.
This role is designed for a technically inclined product manager, or an engineer with a talent for customer facing engagement and UX.
Customer Feedback and Experience: You'll engage directly with our customers through user interviews and ride-alongs with drivers to gather insights, then use that feedback to shape the design and functionality of both our web and mobile applications.
End-to-End Product Ownership: Actively engage at every stage of the product’s lifecycle—from early development to warehouse integration and support.
UI development: You may also contribute directly to the UI, writing code for the frontend and mobile platforms.
Required:
Proficiency in at least two of the following areas, with a strong interest and enthusiasm for the rest:
Product Management:
Making decisions for the overall product strategy, roadmap, and feature prioritization based on customer impact.
Defining functional requirements and acceptance criteria for mobile and web features.
Balancing technical feasibility, user needs, and business goals to prioritize engineering deliverables.
User Data gathering:
Experience conducting user research, such as interviews or field observations.
Ability to translate user feedback into actionable product enhancements.
Strong communication skills to effectively bridge technical engineering teams and non-technical stakeholders
UX and Design:
Understanding of user-centered design principles to craft intuitive, user-friendly experiences that align with customer expectations.
Experience producing clear design artifacts, including wireframes, user flow diagrams, and Product Requirements Documents (PRDs).
UI Development for Android and iOS
Ideally Kotlin Multi-platform and Java, but not required.
Familiarity with Android and iOS testing frameworks
Preferred:
Knowledge and/or experience in supply chain and logistics.
BonusL
Hands on development experience in both iOS and Android development.
Track record of shipping production software systems
Experience with Machine Learning or Computer Vision products
You have refined your own AI-augmented development workflow
What Makes You Successful Here
You don't get stuck in the weeds. You commit and follow through. You're comfortable with ambiguity and can make progress without complete specifications. You ask \"why\" before diving into \"how,\" and you're not afraid to challenge assumptions when something doesn't make sense.
This is a high-ownership environment where your work directly impacts customers and revenue. You'll have autonomy, but you'll also be expected to take initiative and drive projects to completion.
Location
Striking distance of Tulsa, OK preferred, but we're open to exceptional candidates regardless of location. This role may require periodic travel to customer sites and our Tulsa headquarters.
