Job summary

Cincinnati Thermal Spray, Inc. in Springfield, NJ is seeking a Product Engineer focused on project management, product development and process improvements for the assigned product line, ensuring substantiation, new product introduction, and ongoing enhancements.

The role collaborates with CTS quality and production to transition products to production, develop cost estimates, and manage tooling and work instructions while interfacing with customers on status.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Materials or Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • Mathematical skills to apply fractions, percentages, geometry, trigonometry, and proportions.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR/EAR requirement.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and accountable for new product development activities within the specified product line.
  • Maintain the status of all development activities and communicate with internal and external customers.
  • Ensure a thorough and effective transition of new products and processes into production.
  • Coordinate the completion and issuance of cost estimates.
  • Develop process planning incorporating customer requirements and coordinating reviews with CTS quality and production personnel.
  • Sends plans to customers for approval as required.
  • Ensure the effective design of production tooling.
  • Manage the issuance and accuracy of production work instructions.
  • Develop robotic programs related to product development.
  • Manage the standard costs across product line.
  • Interface with customers regarding development and process activity status.

SUMMARY :

The Product Engineer focuses on project management - product development and product improvement activities within the Profit Center, ensuring efficient product substantiation, new product introduction, and on-going process improvements for assigned product line.

HELPFUL EXPERIENCE:
  • CNC machining/programming experience
  • 3D Modeling/SolidWorks
  • Project Management
RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Ensure a thorough and effective transition of new products and process into production.

QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree: B.S. in Materials or Mechanical Engineering preferred; technical work-study or intern experience in thermal spray coatings preferred.
  • Mathematical Skills - Ability to work with mathematical concepts and apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, geometry, trigonometry, and proportions to practical situations.
  • Reasoning - Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Must be a U.S. Person due to ITAR/EAR requirement
