Overview

At Esri, our solution engineers are part of a highly-skilled team that helps shape strategies on the effective adoption and use of Esri technologies. We invite you to use your problem-solving skills and passion for geospatial technology to become an integral part of the Geo Experience Center. Be part of the team that presents and demonstrates geospatial solutions and capabilities to executives and strategic customers when they visit the Esri-Redlands Campus.

We’re looking for individuals who are naturally curious about technology, enjoy identifying and promoting strategies, and demonstrating solutions that will radically improve the way organizations address the challenges they face. You’ll work closely with a team that helps our customers take advantage of geospatial technologies to find answers to their challenges. You will also be working with Esri’s senior leadership team and be involved in weekly executive briefings.

Responsibilities

  • Build relationships. Present, demonstrate, and support selling Esri software and solutions as part of the Geo Experience Center team. Support your team as you help plan and execute sales strategies.
  • Be an expert. Become a subject matter expert as well as a technical expert of Esri’s complete platform and strategic products. Speak confidently with customers about Esri technologies and thoroughly communicate the Esri message. Be a visionary for our customers anticipating their needs and the technology trends that may impact them.
  • Solve problems. Proactively craft and propose solutions that illustrate how geospatial technologies brings business value to our customers by addressing the critical business challenges they face.
  • Spatial thinking: Understand spatial problem solving; employ spatial theory into practice; break problems down into component parts and seek multiple solutions; look for improvement opportunities; and integrate new and emerging concepts/trends appropriately.
  • Tell our story. Present technical demonstrations of proposed solutions to customers. Successfully design presentations for technical and non- technical customers. Provide best practices related to the use and customization of Esri technology.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience with Esri technology creating maps, performing spatial analysis, and configuring web applications
  • 1+ years of experience in various industries
  • Understanding of ArcGIS from an IT context (such as hardware, storage, security, networking, web services, cloud computing)
  • Experience in technical consulting and conceptual solution design as well as an understanding of sales and business development processes
  • Knowledge of cloud computing concepts in addition to enterprise solutions
  • Remarkable presentation, interpersonal, and listening skills
  • Able to work in a high-stress, action-packed, intense teamwork environments
  • Ability to travel domestically or internationally 25-50%
  • Bachelor’s in geography, computer science, or a related field

Recommended Qualifications

  • Programming experience in more or multiple languages: Python, R, Scala, Java, Go
  • Familiarity with libraries likes Pandas, NumPy, TensorFlow, PyTorch or similar frameworks
  • Familiarity with ArcGIS or GIS within an emphasis on spatial analysis, data science and data engineering
  • Basic understanding of artificial intelligence/machine learning concepts
  • Experience in designing and implementing ETL pipelines
  • Experience incorporating real-time information streams with existing GIS data and IT infrastructure
  • Experience with geodatabases and underlying DBMS technology
  • Experience with cloud platforms like AWS Redshift, Google BigQuery or Azure Fabric
  • Master’s in geography, computer science, or a related field
