Flint, Inc. is seeking a Product Engineer who loves building customer-facing products and has experience helping products grow from 1 to 10.
You’ll work across the stack with product and design, owning problems end-to-end—from understanding user needs to shipping and iterating on solutions. In this generalist role you’ll talk to users, make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed and quality, and apply AI to build better products.
Founded in 2023, Flint is an AI-powered platform built for schools. In three years, we've partnered with hundreds of schools across the U.S. and internationally, supporting 750,000+ students.
We're building an agentic learning system where students actually learn, teachers can understand and improve that learning, and every interaction makes the next one better.
We're looking for a Product Engineer who loves building customer-facing products and has experience helping products go from 1 → 10.
You'll work as a generalist across the stack, closely with product and design, and own problems end-to-end—from understanding what users need to building, shipping, and iterating on the solution.
This is not a role where you'll receive perfectly scoped tickets and implement them. You'll be expected to understand the product, make good decisions under ambiguity, and take ownership of getting great products into users' hands.
Build and ship products used by teachers and students every day
Own features end-to-end, from understanding the problem to implementation, launch, and iteration
Work across the stack wherever needed to solve the problem
Collaborate closely with product and design to turn user needs into great product experiences
Talk to users, understand how they use what you build, and incorporate feedback quickly
Improve existing products and systems as they grow in usage and complexity
Make pragmatic tradeoffs between speed, quality, and scalability
Use AI deeply to build better products and increase your own leverage
You have experience building and shipping customer-facing software
You've helped a startup or product grow from 1 → 10, and understand how building changes as a product matures
You're a generalist who is comfortable working across frontend, backend, and product
You care about the details of the user experience, not just whether the code works
You have strong product judgment and can make progress without a perfectly specified roadmap
You move quickly while maintaining a high bar for quality
You communicate proactively and work well with product, design, and other engineers
You prefer ownership over narrow roles
You're comfortable operating in a fast-moving startup environment
We care much more about what you've built, the problems you've owned, and how you think than a specific number of years of experience.
TypeScript, React, Next.js, Postgres, Supabase, Vercel, and AI systems.
You don't need experience with every technology in our stack. We care more about your ability to learn quickly, work across boundaries, and build great products.
Work on a product used by hundreds of schools and hundreds of thousands of students
Help build a new category of learning system that goes beyond the traditional LMS
Join a small team where individual engineers have significant ownership and impact
Work closely with product, design, and customers rather than operating within a narrow engineering lane
Own meaningful parts of the product as Flint grows
Solve challenging product and engineering problems with real-world impact
$160K–$190K base + meaningful equity
Compensation for remote candidates may vary based on location.
