Job summary

Doosan Robotics X ONExia is seeking a Product Engineer to transform validated prototypes into cost-effective, production-ready products. You will own design-for-manufacturing and design-for-assembly, manage BOMs, and hand off to Manufacturing Engineering.

You will refine prototypes for cost, reliability, and appearance; drive standardization; and collaborate with industrial designers and technical writers to produce comprehensive production documentation.

Qualifications

• DFM/DFA background with experience taking prototype-stage hardware to production.
• Strong CAD experience with sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, tolerances, and assemblies.
• BOM management, cost optimization, and production documentation experience.
• Ability to balance cost, appearance, serviceability, reliability, and manufacturing constraints.
• Comfortable writing or closely reviewing SOPs, assembly instructions, and maintenance documentation.
• Must have strong English verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Refine validated prototypes for manufacturing cost, assembly efficiency, reliability, serviceability, ruggedness, and finished appearance.
• Perform DFM, DFA, tolerance, and value-engineering reviews while preserving required product performance.
• Drive component, material, fastener, fabrication, and design standardization across products.
• Coordinate with industrial designers to incorporate a consistent, customer-appropriate product appearance.
• Produce and release BOMs, drawings, assembly instructions, specifications, and production documentation.
• Support pilot builds, resolve production-readiness issues, and complete the handoff to Manufacturing Engineering.
• Work with Technical Writers and production team on SOPs, maintenance manuals, and service documentation.
• Track cost, assembly time, quality, and manufacturability improvements through product release.
• Other duties as assigned

The Opportunity

The Product Engineer takes validated prototypes and converts them into cost-effective, rugged, attractive, and production-ready products. This role owns design-for-manufacturing, design-for-assembly, product documentation, and the technical handoff from R&D to Manufacturing Engineering.

What Your Days Will Look Like:

• Refine validated prototypes for manufacturing cost, assembly efficiency, reliability, serviceability, ruggedness, and finished appearance.

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering or relevant work experience
• Strong DFM/DFA background with experience taking prototype-stage hardware to production.
• Mechanical design and CAD experience with sheet metal, weldments, machined parts, tolerances, and assemblies.
• BOM management, cost optimization, and production documentation experience.
• Ability to balance cost, appearance, serviceability, reliability, and manufacturing constraints.
• Comfortable writing or closely reviewing SOPs, assembly instructions, and maintenance documentation.
• Must have strong English verbal and written communication skills
• Demonstrated ability to work as part of a cross functional team
• Schedule: Monday-Friday, 8-hour shifts
• Travel: 5-10% (occasional business meeting)
