Job description

[Doosan Robotics X ONExia] is experiencing an exciting transformation. As a leader in robotic solutions with standard products for palletizing and packaging applications using Robot Arms, we're experiencing rapid expansion and scaling our impact across industries. Our cutting-edge systems—from advanced palletizing and case packing to carton erecting and conveyor solutions—are transforming operations for companies across North America, and we need passionate engineers to fuel our next phase of growth.

The Opportunity

The Development Engineer leads new robotic products from customer and market need through a working, field-ready prototype. This role combines product ownership, mechanical invention, system architecture, and cross-functional leadership for two to three products within the end-of-line roadmap.

What Your Days Will Look Like:
  • Work with Sales, Marketing, Applications, customers, and R&D leadership to define product requirements, target applications, and commercial priorities.
  • Take concepts through mechanism invention, gripper design, motion planning, base and frame design, pneumatics, analysis, and prototype validation.
  • Serve as the initial product owner for assigned products, maintaining requirements, coordinating disciplines, tracking roadmap items, and leading design reviews.
  • Make system-level design decisions that balance customer appeal, performance, cost, manufacturability, serviceability, and long-term reliability.
  • Coordinate with Electrical and Software Engineering to ensure the design includes all required controls, safety, sensing, and user-interface capabilities.
  • Review prior custom projects and field lessons to create improved standardized designs, consulting original designers as needed.
  • Design with manufacturability in mind while targeting factory-grade uptime and years of service.
  • Build, test, troubleshoot, and support prototype or early field deployments, then hand validated designs to Product Industrialization.
  • Other duties as assigned
