Job summary

Bareinsights is seeking a hands-on product engineer to own features end-to-end on a core API used by thousands of developers. You will build developer-facing product features from idea through production and help shape the developer experience at the heart of our platform.

You should have 3–10+ years shipping developer-facing products, strong skills in TypeScript and Node.js, and hands-on experience with Playwright or Puppeteer. Hybrid work in SF applies.

About the Role

This is a hands-on product engineering role at a fast-growing developer infrastructure company that turns the web into clean, structured data for AI agents and LLMs. You’ll own features end-to-end — from idea through production — on a core API that thousands of developers use every day, and your work will directly shape the developer experience at the heart of what the team builds.

What You’ll Do

• Build and ship developer-facing product features from idea to production with minimal overhead.

• Own the reliability and quality of your shipped work against a web that constantly evolves and fights back.

• Turn hard, ambiguous problems into clean, well-designed APIs developers love to build on.

• Work directly with the engineering team on roadmap priorities and the tradeoffs behind them.

• Dogfood the product, read user feedback and GitHub issues, and let real developer pain drive what you build next.

What We’re Looking For

• 3–10+ years of experience shipping developer-facing products that external users actually adopted.

• Proven track record with browser automation, web scraping, agent tooling, or AI-driven web interaction — shipped to external developers, not internal-only.

• Proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js for day-to-day development.

• Hands-on experience with Playwright , Puppeteer , Stagehand , or Chromium internals on real projects.

• Owned features end-to-end (conception through production) at a sub-200-person startup — ideally Series A–C — without PM or designer specifications.

• Obsession with developer experience: sweats API response shape, latency, error clarity, and documentation as first-class concerns.

• Comfortable shipping in days rather than weeks; makes sound decisions with incomplete information.

• Familiarity with LLM APIs and how AI agents select and use tools is a strong plus.

• Background as a founding or early engineer at a DevTools or AI agent startup is highly valued.

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $210,000 – $260,000 USD annually

• Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.

Location

Hybrid — primary location is the San Francisco Bay Area (SF office). Candidates based in or able to work hybrid from SF are required.
