Job summary

Texas Instruments Incorporated is seeking a Product Engineer for the HVDC GaN/Si gate driver qualification team. You will join a dynamic, cross-functional group focused on data center applications and new product development from KO to RTM.

You will collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging and Reliability to drive qualification plans and release products. The role emphasizes problem solving and risk assessment across internal partners to bring GaN

Qualifications

  • GaN technology exposure preferred.
  • Strong collaboration skills in a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Experience with qualification methodologies and failure analysis is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging and Reliability to meet project goals and objectives.
  • Align with the QRE team to generate die and package qualification plans for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial devices.
  • Own and drive execution of the product qualification plan, including milestones, risk assessment, data analysis, and product release.
  • Design qualification hardware for stresses like HTOL, HAST, and Power Temp Cycle with pattern generation and measurements.
  • Guide failure analysis to determine root causes of reliability and qualification failures.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction, capacity expansion, and quality improvements in manufacturing.
  • Interact with PPIT partners to define and release new GaN technologies.
  • Apply 8D, 4C, FMEA and other problem-solving methods to resolve yield and quality issues.
  • Analyze customer returns to identify root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Document gaps and lessons learned for future NPDE PE teams.

The HVDC product line within High Voltage Power business is looking for a motivated, results-minded engineer to become part of our team as a Product Engineer. This team drives the qualification of GaN FETs and Si gate driver devices going into data center markets with significant growth potential. In this role you will have key responsibilities in new product development from KO to RTM and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have a background that includes qualification execution, preferably in high voltage power devices. Responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborating and working in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packagingand Reliability in all aspects of new product development to accomplish project goals and objectives.
  • Aligning with the QRE team to generate die and package qualification plans for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial devices.
  • Owning and driving execution of the product qualification plan. Including development milestones, risk assessment and mitigation, review qual and test plans, data analysis, documentation, manufacturing approval, and product release.
  • Qualification hardware design for stresses such as dynamic HTOL, Biased HAST and Power Temp Cycle including pattern generation and measurements.
  • Submission and guidance of the failure analysis (FA) to determine root cause of any reliability and qualification failures.
  • Driving activities for cost reduction, capacity expansion, and quality enhancement, including manufacturing platform simplifications, process/package/test optimization.
  • Managing production escalation with engineers at the factory, assess risk and make disposition decisions on production material with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
  • Interacting with PPIT partners to define, co-develop and release new technologies as part of GaN roadmap products.
  • Applying proven problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 4C, failure analysis, experimental design, statistical analysis, and bench testing to resolve yield and quality issues.
  • Customer returns analysis and driving meetings to find the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Documenting gaps, lessons learned, and best practices back to NPDE PE teams for better execution on future projects.
