Job summary

Texas Instruments is seeking a Product Engineer for the HVDC product line within High Voltage Power. You will drive qualification of GaN FETs and Si gate driver devices for data center applications, participating in new product development from KO to RTM and beyond.

The role involves collaboration across Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging, and Reliability to deliver robust qualification plans and product releases.

Qualifications

  • Experience with GaN FETs and Si gate driver devices, preferably in data center markets.
  • Background in qualification execution for HV devices and reliability testing.
  • Knowledge of HTOL, HAST and related qualification methodologies.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packaging and Reliability to meet new product development goals.
  • Develop qualification plans for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial devices and align with QRE team.
  • Own and drive execution of product qualification plans, including milestones, risk assessment, data analysis, and product release.
  • Design qualification hardware for stresses like HTOL, HAST, and Power Temp Cycle; generate patterns and measurements.
  • Coordinate failure analysis to determine root causes and implement corrective actions.
  • Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process improvements within manufacturing.

The HVDC product line within High Voltage Power business is looking for a motivated, results-minded engineer to become part of our team as a Product Engineer. This team drives the qualification of GaN FETs and Si gate driver devices going into data center markets with significant growth potential. In this role you will have key responsibilities in new product development from KO to RTM and beyond.

The ideal candidate will have a background that includes qualification execution, preferably in high voltage power devices. Responsibilities may include:

  • Collaborating and working in a team environment with Design, Applications, Test, Marketing, Manufacturing, Quality, Packagingand Reliability in all aspects of new product development to accomplish project goals and objectives.
  • Aligning with the QRE team to generate die and package qualification plans for Automotive, Industrial, and Commercial devices.
  • Owning and driving execution of the product qualification plan. Including development milestones, risk assessment and mitigation, review qual and test plans, data analysis, documentation, manufacturing approval, and product release.
  • Qualification hardware design for stresses such as dynamic HTOL, Biased HAST and Power Temp Cycle including pattern generation and measurements.
  • Submission and guidance of the failure analysis (FA) to determine root cause of any reliability and qualification failures.
  • Driving activities for cost reduction, capacity expansion, and quality enhancement, including manufacturing platform simplifications, process/package/test optimization.
  • Managing production escalation with engineers at the factory, assess risk and make disposition decisions on production material with Manufacturing and Quality teams.
  • Interacting with PPIT partners to define, co-develop and release new technologies as part of GaN roadmap products.
  • Applying proven problem-solving methodologies such as 8D, 4C, failure analysis, experimental design, statistical analysis, and bench testing to resolve yield and quality issues.
  • Customer returns analysis and driving meetings to find the root cause and implement corrective actions.
  • Documenting gaps, lessons learned, and best practices back to NPDE PE teams for better execution on future projects.
